If there was only one man left in the world, and only one woman. And she wasn't into it, but without intercourse humanity would die? Surely rape in that case would be better than murder, or genocide, which is what her continued and consistent refusal would be, possibly the extinction of all intelligent life in the universe? -- Momus (Momus), Saturday, 26 April 2003 14:43 (4 years ago)

AD & J.A., DESTROY ALL COMEDY
― Dr Morbius, Monday, 11 February 2008 19:36 (eighteen years ago)
Will Arnett is like the mascot for all the reasons I hate AD, but I'm starting to kinda like him after seeing Let's Go To Prison, The Brothers Solomon, and Blades Of Glory all in the past month.
― Alex in Baltimore, Monday, 11 February 2008 19:37 (eighteen years ago)

LGTP = surprisingly good! the best of those 3, at least.

i am rather disturbed by seeing will ferrel with 'afro-disiac' caption in the subway every day ;_;

will ferrell is getting tired
― omar little, Monday, 11 February 2008 20:17 (eighteen years ago)
i'm sort of sick of michael cera though i also like AD
juno was gross
― chaki, Monday, 11 February 2008 20:27 (eighteen years ago)
it's very easy for comedy actors to get tired. they always do too many bad ones and since so few of them are versatile at all the shtick always wears.
― s1ocki, Monday, 11 February 2008 20:28 (eighteen years ago)
exception: vince vaughn
― chaki, Monday, 11 February 2008 20:36 (eighteen years ago)
vince got mad puffy tho
― bell_labs, Monday, 11 February 2008 20:38 (eighteen years ago)
vince vaughn is versatile?
― Jordan, Monday, 11 February 2008 20:39 (eighteen years ago)
for god's sake i was joking.
― chaki, Monday, 11 February 2008 20:39 (eighteen years ago)
It's hard to tell with you, Mr. Dane Cook fan.
― Pleasant Plains, Monday, 11 February 2008 20:42 (eighteen years ago)
vince vaughn is better than dane cook
― M@tt He1ges0n, Monday, 11 February 2008 20:45 (eighteen years ago)
will ferrell's movies are usually funnier in concept than execution.

s1ocki i'm bizarro Jordan, this had already been established.

he's gotta stop doing the LOL HE'S A SPORTS STAR thing
― s1ocki, Monday, 11 February 2008 20:48 (eighteen years ago)
his career is riding on imagery that certain people remember from television of a certain period and i think sometimes he figures the references alone are endless lols. i just read something about how he wants to make a movie involving old spice?
― omar little, Monday, 11 February 2008 20:50 (eighteen years ago)
kinda like the Marx Bros making a film about BARBASOL, oh what a classic
I've seen Vince Vaughn in his 5 minutes in Into the WIld, and that's it.
― Dr Morbius, Monday, 11 February 2008 20:52 (eighteen years ago)
i assume he reprises his swingers role
― s1ocki, Monday, 11 February 2008 20:53 (eighteen years ago)
i recommend swingers morbz its a riot also in wedding crashers when he does the motorboat
xpost
― sleep, Monday, 11 February 2008 20:54 (eighteen years ago)
i think Will Ferrell's just too much a product of that era 20-30 years ago when every third comedy was a sports comedy.
Vince Vaughn had a few bad wilderness years after Swingers where he did nothing but drama and then had an epiphany like "oh yeah the whole reason i'm famous is because of a movie i was really funny in". i still kinda don't like seeing him in any serious roles.
― Alex in Baltimore, Monday, 11 February 2008 20:55 (eighteen years ago)
i saw clay pigeons and that drug movie w/joaquin phoenix. those were pretty terrible.
― omar little, Monday, 11 February 2008 20:57 (eighteen years ago)
swingers is pretty bad.
― s1ocki, Monday, 11 February 2008 20:57 (eighteen years ago)
i kind of liked return to paradise tho. it was such a serious DRAMA. glad he realized he's a comedy dude at heart tho. made is pretty bad too but he's funny in it.
― s1ocki, Monday, 11 February 2008 20:58 (eighteen years ago)
yeah but like it or not, Swingers was kinda his starmaking performance, the whole reason he got to do bad high profile shit like a Pyscho remake and a Jurassic Park sequel. (xpost)
― Alex in Baltimore, Monday, 11 February 2008 20:59 (eighteen years ago)
he's definitely funny in swingers, it's just kind of a bad movie. i'm beginning to think, especially after seeing the lousy JUMPER this morning, that the bourne identity was a bit of a fluke
― s1ocki, Monday, 11 February 2008 21:06 (eighteen years ago)
the break-up was a pretty good use of vv's bro-ish asshole persona.
― Jordan, Monday, 11 February 2008 21:30 (eighteen years ago)
For the folks who hate Dane Cook; look up the "You Suck At Photoshop" videos on YouTube. Those are pretty damned funny.
