4th ave is pretty meh. not dangerous, but it's a really busy, pretty ugly huge road. seems like a couple of bars/restaurants have opened, but it's pretty sparse. also may be a bit of a schlep to public transport.

That part of 4th can be dangerous, if it's late at night it's best not to be alone. But most of those parts of brooklyn, you always have the chance of a mugging. It's smart to know what blocks to walk on. Don't go exploring gowanus canal at 4 in the morning.

4th is already gentrified. there is nothing stopping us but the canal.

and it was a stupid process too. i remember going over to friends apts on 4th, and we'd wish there would be a bar closer than o'connors. then all of a sudden 6 bars open at once.

i drove past that hotel once. it is on the most unlikely street ever.

in town with the boyfriend starting tomorrow evening for a birthday dinner for a friend of ours -- staying @ hotel near union square for a few days, and then staying in bkyln a few days. not a lot of plans except with meeting with some of our friends -- dust1n's birthday is on the 26th so that may not be the best day but otherwise looking for adventures
