AzKelt = Aztec + Celtic rock? Who the hell books this stuff?
― Laurel, Tuesday, 29 January 2008 18:13 (eighteen years ago)
"AzKelt emotes a long lost pagan energy, which they believe needs to be reinstated in a world filled with materialistic needs. "
― Laurel, Tuesday, 29 January 2008 18:14 (eighteen years ago)
Pretty sure first? Maybe it's a different calendar view but it says Sharx at 8pm.
ok that's what I had heard but it seemed too early
the thing I was looking at just had a list on each date and I didn't know if the "headliner" was listed first or last
damn I am barely gonna be able to make it from work in time
― dmr, Tuesday, 29 January 2008 18:17 (eighteen years ago)

― gbx, Tuesday, 29 January 2008 23:57 (eighteen years ago)
we don't know any of the other bands we're playing with, nor has anyone really bothered to investigate. playing open bar at 8pm is a dubious distinction, but whatever: i go to new york
i can virtually guarantee that most noizers will NOT like what we play, but feel free to come by later for beer-os. also i think my friend is having a loft party that night??? or maybe that is friday. anyway i will be in town friday night, too.
― gbx, Wednesday, 30 January 2008 00:00 (eighteen years ago)

I dig what Sharx play. On Friday I might be going to someone's NEW APARTMENT for a girls' get-together but we'll see...I like loft parties...
― Laurel, Wednesday, 30 January 2008 14:44 (eighteen years ago)
Free tater tots: better if you keep 'em down.
― Laurel, Wednesday, 30 January 2008 14:45 (eighteen years ago)

― Catsupppppppppppppp dude 茄蕃, Thursday, 7 February 2008 19:46 (eighteen years ago)
yeah I sorta doubt 4th Ave will "happen" in the way 5th and 7th did but I guess that's what they're banking on
― dmr, Thursday, 7 February 2008 19:47 (eighteen years ago)
They quote the rooms as $300-450!
An industrial neighborhood known as Gowanus, where new condos — with names like Novo and Argyle — are rising between auto repair shops and big box retailers. Le Bleu occupies a narrow lot with a Staples on one side, a taxi garage on the other.
The eighth-floor restaurant, Vue (named for its skyline vistas), is expected to open in the spring. For now, there’s a modest breakfast buffet of croissants and yogurt, which have to be carried to your room. The glass-walled lobby has precisely two chairs, and they aren’t comfortable.

4th ave is pretty meh. not dangerous, but it's a really busy, pretty ugly huge road. seems like a couple of bars/restaurants have opened, but it's pretty sparse. also may be a bit of a schlep to public transport.
― lauren, Thursday, 7 February 2008 19:50 (eighteen years ago)
"5 unlovely blocks" to the F train.
― Dr Morbius, Thursday, 7 February 2008 19:52 (eighteen years ago)
we got quoted a room w/2 double beds (to share between 4 people) $182.50
― jaxon, Thursday, 7 February 2008 19:52 (eighteen years ago)
also, who cares how many uncomfortable chairs there are in the loby?
― jaxon, Thursday, 7 February 2008 19:53 (eighteen years ago)
also may be a bit of a schlep to public transport
I dunno, it's only a couple blocks from the 4th & 9th subway. but yeah it's a weird street. lotta gas stations.
getting to the city would be easy, north brooklyn on the train maybe not so much

oh, except this: With its cool color palette, stark furnishings and you-better-look-great-naked showers (whose clear glass walls face the bedroom)
