ath (ath), Wednesday, 7 June 2006 12:46 (twenty years ago)

curious, ever have any demicelebrity sightings on ILB? any players, bill james, published writers, etc, show up?

jinx hijinks (sanskrit), Wednesday, 7 June 2006 13:09 (twenty years ago)

karl,

i have no idea.

no celebs on ILB, unless you count members of various indie (now known as "noise") rock bands and co-owner of indie rock industry giant.

published writers include the guy who does a Fox Sports Bay Area column (A's/Giants). Maybe some of the ILX/ILB regs get published in the Weeklies/Pitchfork?

Steve Shasta (Steve Shasta), Wednesday, 7 June 2006 17:05 (twenty years ago)

jäxøñ (jaxon), Wednesday, 7 June 2006 19:00 (twenty years ago)

milton parker (Jon L), Wednesday, 7 June 2006 23:24 (twenty years ago)

JD

i've been in LA for way too long.

JL

what ails you?

Respectfully,
SShasta

Steve Shasta (Steve Shasta), Thursday, 8 June 2006 00:26 (twenty years ago)

nothing serious, but if western medicine's going to casually point me towards bizarre pharms that have only been on the market for 3 years, I'm definitely going to try chinese medicine first

milton parker (Jon L), Thursday, 8 June 2006 00:30 (twenty years ago)

see, that's the kind of question that could be on an "ask jeanne" thread.

JEANNE (ex libris), Thursday, 8 June 2006 00:44 (twenty years ago)

steve, i was in LA this weekend. you shoulda come to my grandma's 95th birthday party.

Steve Shasta (Steve Shasta), Thursday, 8 June 2006 04:05 (twenty years ago)

Steve Shasta (Steve Shasta), Thursday, 8 June 2006 04:05 (twenty years ago)

hi jeanne, there is no ask jeanne thread is there, y'see you should just go ahead and go

milton parker (Jon L), Thursday, 8 June 2006 05:58 (twenty years ago)

tokyo nursery school: afternoon session (rosemary), Tuesday, 13 June 2006 01:14 (twenty years ago)

Rosie,

It was okay, I've been out of town working most of the past month or so. The best was coming home to sleep in my very own bed. That's the best feeling in the world I think. Mirrors are okay.

V,

Dude, there is a time to shred... a time to schralp... a time to carve... and also a time to do a couple slashing off the tops just under the lip and leave this Brad Gerlach-esque spray-fan. But dude, you need to unplug sometime and just meditate at Swami's or your nearest Bahi'a Faith temple. Send me an email offline along with a check for several thousand dollars and we'll make this work.

You're probably too young for this so I'm not sure if you know this, but check out the break in The D.O.C.'s "It's Funky Enough".

Steve Shasta (Steve Shasta), Monday, 25 September 2006 21:33 (nineteen years ago)

You're probably too young for this so I'm not sure if you know this, but check out the break in The D.O.C.'s "It's Funky Enough".

you're probably so old that you're getting senile, but i obviously know how much you like the DOC and i heard the foster sylvers song this weekend and it reminded me of you.

dear shasta, did you know that our mutual panda friend got married recently?

blackmail (blackmail.is.my.life), Friday, 12 January 2007 18:06 (nineteen years ago)

how long should i give LVC 501xx to stretch at the waist? if i have worn them a dozen times or so and they're still not roomy enough is it time to buy another pair? know any tricks to stretch the waist?

vahid

vahid (vahid), Friday, 12 January 2007 18:13 (nineteen years ago)

i'll trade you my 47s. i bought them too big.

jaxon (jaxon), Friday, 12 January 2007 18:24 (nineteen years ago)

really? i think i might be skinnier than you. no offense.

mine are 30 x 34. i usually buy jeans in 31 or 32 and they stretch out to too big, so i bought these LVCs ass-tight. but the LVCs don't seem to be stretching as much as other brands and i'm sick of waiting for them to stretch out.

vahid (vahid), Friday, 12 January 2007 18:28 (nineteen years ago)

good lord, you waifs

cheesesteak and shake (dubplatestyle), Friday, 12 January 2007 18:29 (nineteen years ago)

i fit in them, but i get grumpy after about 4 hours because i'm just not used to wearing my jeans this tight ... is it worth being pissed off to be this fashion-forward?

vahid (vahid), Friday, 12 January 2007 18:31 (nineteen years ago)

and i can't wear them to school, either. i did one time and kids were going "mr f0zi's a skater / emo / a fag"

vahid (vahid), Friday, 12 January 2007 18:33 (nineteen years ago)

i don't think you'd want my jeans. i bought them when i was still wearing really big pants. i fit into a 32-33 and bought them a 36 thinking they'd shrink 2-3 inches. at the time they were my smallest pants, now they're my biggest.

JTR:

YES! I heard all about it! Well it was before the wedding but I was super stoked (a) to catch up with FRP and (b) to hear how good she's doing. Good times duders.

Vahid, what's your true waist measurement (like with measuring tape)?

Steve Shasta (Steve Shasta), Friday, 12 January 2007 18:46 (nineteen years ago)

33"

vahid (vahid), Friday, 12 January 2007 18:53 (nineteen years ago)

if you one-wash and it's american product: 34"
it you one-wash and it's europe/japan: 36"

if you wear them raw, just try them on and see if they fit.

were the LVCs made in belgium/japan? if not, they may have been made here and then marketed/fit for euro/japan markets. where'd you get them?

Steve Shasta (Steve Shasta), Friday, 12 January 2007 18:56 (nineteen years ago)

you're telling me what size to buy?

i got these at american rag on van ness.

vahid (vahid), Friday, 12 January 2007 18:58 (nineteen years ago)

yar dude, size up for one-washes. try on for raw fits.

i love how you say american rag cie "on van ness". there are only 3 in the USA duder (only 2 until last year)! ;-D
