for some reason those triplet myspace-style genre tags really piss me off. "2 step / death metal / psychedelic" etc etc how clever

moonship journey to baja, Thursday, 25 June 2009 20:48 (seventeen years ago)

usually one of them will be "crunk"

am0n, Thursday, 25 June 2009 20:50 (seventeen years ago)

crunk / christian / african

rip dom passantino 3/5/09 never forget (max), Thursday, 25 June 2009 20:51 (seventeen years ago)

or ambient, or psychedelic

moonship journey to baja, Thursday, 25 June 2009 20:53 (seventeen years ago)

those ducktails tags are pretty accurate IMO

cutty, Thursday, 25 June 2009 20:53 (seventeen years ago)

yeah there's nothing wrong with "psych / tropical / ambient" per se, just saying

moonship journey to baja, Thursday, 25 June 2009 20:54 (seventeen years ago)

i just don't like the "ironic" ones you see all the time

moonship journey to baja, Thursday, 25 June 2009 20:54 (seventeen years ago)

basically you are just riffing

cutty, Thursday, 25 June 2009 20:55 (seventeen years ago)

AND WHAT'S WITH MYSPACE GENRE TAGS? SRSLY

michael jackson - morphine

http://www.sendspace.com/file/m2ispe

we get bombarded with his better songs all the time, right now it seems like a good idea to keep his darker side company. this is a good song.

Milton Parker, Thursday, 25 June 2009 23:14 (seventeen years ago)

that song is bananas

cutty, Friday, 26 June 2009 02:03 (seventeen years ago)

and the b-side is this epic funk groove that will not quit.

if sakamoto's 'Esperanto' ever gets reissued on CD, 'Exhibition' should be the bonus track

everyone has 'Esperanto', right?

dave, who is Estee Louder?

A. Roddick City (jaxon), Friday, 10 July 2009 21:36 (sixteen years ago)

xpost. 14. Sarah Dash - Low Down Dirty Rhythm (1983) - 6:42 - this is one of my faves.

5. Loverde - Die Hard Lover (1981) - 7:07 - i have/had this and don't remember loving it.

A. Roddick City (jaxon), Friday, 10 July 2009 21:42 (sixteen years ago)

guess youre not a die hard lover then eh

rip dom passantino 3/5/09 never forget (max), Friday, 10 July 2009 21:43 (sixteen years ago)

pretty awesome to think about Labelle and how the other members besides Patti were Sarah Dash and Nona Hendryx.

dan selzer, Saturday, 11 July 2009 00:56 (sixteen years ago)

ya seriously. did you ever hear this one?

Nona Hendryx (produced by Tangerine Dream's Peter Bauman)'s "Skindiver". for fans of kate bush, peter gabriel or david sylvian

A. Roddick City (jaxon), Saturday, 11 July 2009 01:06 (sixteen years ago)

no, and never noticed the thread. feel free to send me the mp3!

I had the Material record with her on it for a few years and never paid attention to it, then I got my all time favorite italo record, Mr Flagio's Take a Chance and when I realized it was a cover version I had one of those "wait a minute, I have that record!" moments. The pressing is really shitty which may explain why I never paid much attention to it, but it's pretty great.

dan selzer, Saturday, 11 July 2009 03:05 (sixteen years ago)

dave, who is Estee Louder?

haha I don't know I only friended her cause you were first

lately i figured d-i-r-t-y soundsystem affiliated because of that link and also posted some good pippiloti rist videos so I don't really care who she is?

dmr, Saturday, 11 July 2009 06:59 (sixteen years ago)

5. Loverde - Die Hard Lover (1981) - 7:07 - i have/had this and don't remember loving it.

yea that's one of the only ones i knew beforehand i wasn't too keen on. i only know this cause i JUST picked it up like yesterday
