ice cream social justice (Dr Morbius), Friday, 1 September 2017 19:08 (eight years ago)

good to see you all! hungover 2day...

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Friday, 1 September 2017 20:09 (eight years ago)

two months pass...

So I'm def coming for a week in January. And traveling solo so up for meetups & suggestions. What's good to do in January? I'll be staying in bushwick

The Suite Life of Jack and Wendy (wins), Tuesday, 7 November 2017 20:00 (eight years ago)

i'm a terrible new yorker wrt knowing what's good to do, but i'll definitely come out to hang with a wins

harbinger of failure (Jon not Jon), Tuesday, 7 November 2017 20:04 (eight years ago)

well, the Club 57 exhibit will still be running at MoMA

ice cream social justice (Dr Morbius), Tuesday, 7 November 2017 20:15 (eight years ago)

I think half the things people suggested for me on fb are still valid, if you want I'll track down that thread and pass it on

mh, Tuesday, 7 November 2017 20:37 (eight years ago)

oh cool! i'm bushwick-based also, tho probably manhattan makes the most sense for most folks.

Doctor Casino, Wednesday, 8 November 2017 00:59 (eight years ago)

one month passes...

Assuming the frozen wasteland that was once North America is still there, I'll be in NYC in just over a week! I fly in on tues 16th & fly out tues 23rd. I'm gonna spend the 22nd in Montreal, taking an overnight bus there & an overnight bus back so I don't have to pay for a place to sleep on those last 2 nights (this is potentially a very stupid plan since I don't find it particularly easy to sleep on buses, and also because any weather-based delays in getting back from Canada might cause me to miss my flight home but hey I like to live dangerously)

ANYWAY I guess Friday 19th is the sensible day for FAP, although again I'm on my own so almost certainly free to hang on other nights if people want. And still very up for suggestions obv - mh if you could find that thread that'd be great, I tried to have a look myself but obv a fb search for "New York" will give a zillion results

very stabbable gaius (wins), Sunday, 7 January 2018 11:52 (eight years ago)

Yeah I think I pressured some ideas out of people last year, I’ll dig around for it.

mh, Sunday, 7 January 2018 15:31 (eight years ago)

i happen to work at a club/bar on the lower east side that has some very ilxorish activities and drinking if i can invite you?

Chocolate-covered gummy bears? Not ruling those lil' guys out. (ulysses), Sunday, 7 January 2018 16:47 (eight years ago)

^ppl have suggested things very much like this in other venues, I need to get my shit together and decide what things to actually go to

I am here now! I got in last night but after 24 straight hours of public transport I didn't feel like doing much, just went to the local "pub" for a couple of drinks, got some falafel and went back to my room to sleep. Today I think I will explore bushwick and environs and then hop a train to uhhm somewhere to do something

Are ppl still up for doing a thing in Manhattan on Friday night/anyone wanna suggest a venue?

very stabbable gaius (wins), Wednesday, 17 January 2018 13:02 (eight years ago)

i'd be pleased to meet up but am headed out of town

mookieproof, Wednesday, 17 January 2018 15:41 (eight years ago)

i've been sick for 2 weeks but might be OK by the weekend.

ice cream social justice (Dr Morbius), Wednesday, 17 January 2018 15:51 (eight years ago)

There is a good show on Friday night in my neighborhood if you want to come out to Queens

Curly Morlocks (James Redd and the Blecchs), Thursday, 18 January 2018 01:06 (eight years ago)

involving who?

NYC ppl are kinda lazy abt these things, wins, you may have to take the lead.

ice cream social justice (Dr Morbius), Thursday, 18 January 2018 20:11 (eight years ago)

i did kinda make a reasonable suggestion there but...

Chocolate-covered gummy bears? Not ruling those lil' guys out. (ulysses), Thursday, 18 January 2018 20:21 (eight years ago)

Oh yeah, i suck at this and the week passed quickly - I got very smashed at the jazzfest gig last night so today has been a hungover wandering day not a making plans day (I spent like an hour fucking around with homemade synthesisers at the MAD and could have spent 5 hours). Luckily a plan has been made for me, I'm meeting treesh at a place called *checks* revival tomorrow so that's where I'll be if anyone wants to come along

very stabbable gaius (wins), Thursday, 18 January 2018 20:24 (eight years ago)

what time?

Righteous wax chaperone, rotating Wingdings (Doctor Casino), Thursday, 18 January 2018 22:13 (eight years ago)

6:30. In case there’s somewhere else named Revival this is the one in the Village at 15th and Irving. Hope it’s good... haven’t been there before but I know it’s near my office.

treeship 2, Thursday, 18 January 2018 22:17 (eight years ago)

I’ll try to make it

Winter. Dickens. Yes. (Jon not Jon), Friday, 19 January 2018 00:53 (eight years ago)

Curly Morlocks (James Redd and the Blecchs), Friday, 19 January 2018 01:25 (eight years ago)

So I walked into the place today to see what it’s like and and it’s called Mercy now. It seemed Okay... but if anyone knows of another spot around there that’s definitely better I’m not married to this spot. (I don’t think wins is either).

There is a painting of Billy Joel upstairs.

treeship 2, Friday, 19 January 2018 01:58 (eight years ago)

Society Cafe on 13th (in a hotel) is pretty nice. Bad beer list but quiet. There is also Lilie’s Victorian Establishment on 15th but it gets really crowded. V bar down by Washington Square Park is my favorite of all time but it’s very dmall and on a Friday who knows. I suggested Revival/Mercy based on yelp and proximity to my office but now I’m having cold feet.

treeship 2, Friday, 19 January 2018 02:01 (eight years ago)

Just abt the venue. I’m def gonna be there tomorrow.

treeship 2, Friday, 19 January 2018 02:02 (eight years ago)

Burp Castle is nice and quiet

Winter. Dickens. Yes. (Jon not Jon), Friday, 19 January 2018 02:02 (eight years ago)

Sorry guys I am married to the venue I only just learned about today that is apparently called something else now

very stabbable gaius (wins), Friday, 19 January 2018 02:04 (eight years ago)

H8 the name burp castle but it looks pretty cool. I vote for it even though it will take me further away from the L.

treeship 2, Friday, 19 January 2018 02:08 (eight years ago)

Sounds good to me!

very stabbable gaius (wins), Friday, 19 January 2018 02:12 (eight years ago)

Black & White is supposed to be a good one too. Next door to my fav ramen spot.

Evan, Friday, 19 January 2018 02:23 (eight years ago)

See that looks good too. I’m so glad we ditched Revival/Mercy. My vote is still for Burp Castle but it’s good to learn about more Village bars.

treeship 2, Friday, 19 January 2018 02:52 (eight years ago)

I'm fine with the burp place

very stabbable gaius (wins), Friday, 19 January 2018 03:05 (eight years ago)

Got a stack of stuff to finish up in the afternoon, but will try and join!

Righteous wax chaperone, rotating Wingdings (Doctor Casino), Friday, 19 January 2018 13:16 (eight years ago)

ice cream social justice (Dr Morbius), Friday, 19 January 2018 13:25 (eight years ago)

Sorry I can't be there, wins! I get in next Friday, was gonna post the same thing you did last week.

morning wood truancy (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Friday, 19 January 2018 14:05 (eight years ago)

burp castle is a funny place , but they have some good beers . it's a quiet place by design they encourage low volume conversations.

(•̪●) (carne asada), Friday, 19 January 2018 14:13 (eight years ago)

It's weird that they name themselves after a noise then

But yes, burp castle from 6:30 tonight!

very stabbable gaius (wins), Friday, 19 January 2018 15:30 (eight years ago)

My voice isn't all the way back yet, but i'm not really sick.

ice cream social justice (Dr Morbius), Friday, 19 January 2018 16:58 (eight years ago)

will you be wearing a funny hat?

ice cream social justice (Dr Morbius), Friday, 19 January 2018 17:07 (eight years ago)

I'm wearing a funny everything

very stabbable gaius (wins), Friday, 19 January 2018 18:49 (eight years ago)

go to times square to make a few bucks

mh, Friday, 19 January 2018 19:14 (eight years ago)

I have a white beard and a torn blue/black parka

ice cream social justice (Dr Morbius), Friday, 19 January 2018 20:23 (eight years ago)

I have glasses and a kind of noncommital scruffy beard. A very unique look in New York city.

treeship 2, Friday, 19 January 2018 20:41 (eight years ago)

lmao

(•̪●) (carne asada), Friday, 19 January 2018 20:51 (eight years ago)

I look a total state, I'll be sweating in a bulky red & blue coat. I have long hair & a beard. I'm also a little drunk already but am going to the cinema now to sober up

very stabbable gaius (wins), Friday, 19 January 2018 20:56 (eight years ago)

I’ll be there pretty soon. Leaving from 26th and the Hudson now. Short, white, scrubby facial hair, green knit cap: you know the drill.

Winter. Dickens. Yes. (Jon not Jon), Friday, 19 January 2018 23:22 (eight years ago)
