I once walked into a bathroom where an old bloke was washing his arse + bollocks in the sink. Then I knelt in some diarrhoea later and actually felt lucky that it was diarrhoea rather than a needle with hep c. Can't grumble though - this was the actual apex of my working career!

My hatred of cyclists can be traced to an exact moment.

I was taking a walk on the Brooklyn Bridge and this African-American family was standing in the bike lane so they could take a photo on what anyone would agree is one of New York's most popular and iconic of tourist sites. A white cyclist was BARRELING down the decline and just starts yelling "NO!" at them, like he was scolding a dog, without slowing down. Like it just put a sharp focus the fucking entitlement of these people.

in the hectic free-for-all that is ilx (and it's much worse elsewhere than here) missing the finer distinctions, qualifications and nuances of an argument is normal. consequently, fairly representing one's shallow or mistaken understanding of someone else's argument, always entails misrepresenting that argument.

deliberate and gross distortions are depressingly common on the web, too, but not so much on ilx. here such gross distortions are usually made in order to justify a lazy zing, rather than to vilify an opponent.
