Yeah that looked like an excerpt from some kind of dumb novel about a creepy rock critic.

Treeship, Saturday, 23 July 2016 21:36 (nine years ago)

ah, okay, it's probably from the new tao lin book.

Need a detailed exegesis.

Treeship, Saturday, 23 July 2016 22:24 (nine years ago)

sorry if this seems overly coy but I'm never sure if it's cool to speculate about name changing: there's a poster with a different name who stopped posting immediately prior to Mercury ###'s first post and who is extremely agitated about the fact that glenn mcdonald (author of that linked review, I guess, though I don't know anything about it) both works for spotify and posts here.

rob, Saturday, 23 July 2016 22:31 (nine years ago)

Feel like said poster stopped posting awhile ago

veggie sticks potato snacks (Sufjan Grafton), Saturday, 23 July 2016 22:36 (nine years ago)

Hadn't even noticed that was Glenn's review, I just googled a paragraph from the Mercury # post and that was the only hit.

scarcity festival (Jon not Jon), Saturday, 23 July 2016 23:03 (nine years ago)

Guangchang, thank you man (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 23 July 2016 23:56 (nine years ago)

ILX def makes revenue for spotify via playlists, which are listened to by people outside the core chatterboxes who constitute the forum proper.

okay yeah the rod one is obviously excruciating if you are taking part in it but the people involved are all smart and funny and all that. i feel partially responsible for starting that endless eagles thread. i actually just read a big chunk of that rod thread.
