I recognized her (the presumed customer) as belonging to the sisters’ clan, which clan come in sometimes shortly before midnight, and while I am ringing up someone the rest of them, say 10+ people, ransack/steal the department blind. And I knew that this was going to be big, so I forewent my break, made extra precautions with Sheryl (HOM), etc. Let the story begin . . .

So this twenty-ish old girl comes in around 10:00pm with a cart, and slowly meanders through the department loading it up, but in the characteristic manner of would-be thieves. I recognize her as belonging to the clan/family who are attempting to return the $1600 TV dear old dad purchased for them & kept the original receipt in his wallet (along with the his credit card).

Well, things developed along, and when I told Ron he was already onto it and watching her. So, she collected things for about an hour, and then right abou the time the Ron would have closed his till and gone home, say 10:55pm, she says to Ron, OK, we can start ringing things up. Before this she had said to me that she wanted to split the sales into three separate purchases.

It kept getting weirder as time went on, so began involving Wanda (security) involved, Sheryl HOM, Derek HOM, Ron, & myself. While Ron & Wanda was busy watching her, I got ahold of Sheryl & asked her to standby with a backup cashier, and I told Ron to leave his till behind tonight because we both figured that she would spring close to when Ron would leave.

She was directing Derek which “Stuff” to include in “her” purchase, and which to include in her “mother’s” purchase. Wanda said began noticing her watching her, & that she must have spooked her, because she said that she said that she was going to see what was taking her mother so long, and began to walk out of the department with a basket of about $100, at which point I informed her that she would have to pay for that in this department.

She said that the things in the basket were for her brother at check stand #1, so I offered to run them down for her while she concluded her transaction here. No brother at check stand one, so I came back to photo, and she was gone, so we tallied up the total with Wanda. About $3400 PEM merchandise, and about $1800 in “card” sales, ie Nordstrom’s, iHop, and other assorted establishments around SLC. Wanda took the VARIABLE priced cards away with her, say, iTunes, Amazon, MasterCard, Visa, etc, which are NOT included in the totals above.

I thanked HOM, Sheryl & Derek, profusely. Later they said that it put them behind on recovery, but they still got all their recovery done. Anyway, see Wanda for the details of what went down – remember, when I said that this was going to be an unusual year for late night trouble (right after Christmas time, and they have only adjusted their clocks for later (events)).

reminded of a friend who worked at Best Buy in high school, when the CD section was probably 1/4 of the store. there was some guy who they regarded as some type of ninja when it came to CD theft. one day, he comes in, two workers watch him from different ends of the aisle as he flips through the racks. after fifteen minutes or so, he leaves, and neither of them had noticed anything.

one of them goes through the aisle and finds an empty case, it's plastic wrap and security sticker sliced through. he got the CD.

Reason The violation for which I received this parking citation is for parking more than 12 inches from the curb of the road and for parking facing traffic. I believe that this was unreasonable considering that I was parked away from the curb due to a low ditch between the curb and the edge of the street. I found it unsafe and possibly damaging to park in the ditch, for that I parked only a couple of inches away. I did not realize that parking facing traffic would be a problem considering that I only desired to park right in front of my friend's home instead of across the street and because I was parked on a wide residential road where there is not much traffic. I understand the violation, but I see no real unsafe or inconvenient problems with my parking situation.
Decision Reason Parking this way requires you to drive into oncoming traffic while parking and then again when you leave. This creates a potential hazard. This is a State Ordinance.

They all go to <my email> @ gmail.com, but with the dots removed from <my email>.
