Somebody who shares my first and last name and lives in Palo Alto is apparently very eager to play golf because I've now gotten three certificates of medical clearance (in French!) saying that she is cleared to do so. Maybe it's because we have the same name and are roughly the same age so I felt some kinship, or just because I'm a lawyer and omg HIPAA, but I actually called the clinic to let them know.

I have received several queries about the condition of a golf course for an event. Must be the time of the year where we get ready for golf.

holy trinity of mexican cuisine

"Uncle Julio's Perimeter" is the strangest name for a restaurant ever btw. Why not just call it Grampa Joe's Area.

The restaurant chain is called Uncle Julio's and Perimeter is the location in Atlanta.

There's an Uncle Julio's in Chicago. I've eaten there a couple of times and it is okay.

Well that makes more sense! ... I guess.

I used to live in Atlanta and am familiar with Uncle Julio's so I knew what the score was from the beginning and I'm quite sad that I didn't get to experience a world where I believed there was a restaurant called Uncle Julio's Perimeter. Because that's fucking hilarious.

According to the website there is also an Uncle Julio's Plymouth Meeting, and Uncle Julio's Grapevine, and an Uncle Julio's Woodbridge. Perimeter is definitely the best, though.

No complications. No hassle. Just a meeting between some pilgrims and native Americans mediated by my uncle Julio.

a few weeks back I got a misdirected email about buying a flat in barcelona.
today, i just received a misdirected email about buying a house in montreal.
i dunno if it's the same guy, but my similarly named peeps sure seem to be doing better than i am (though not at giving out their email)

For a few months last year I kept getting emails from a woman called Freya - I couldn't tell if they were to her son or an ex-lover. They were always like "Wonderful to see you again and you are looking well. Fran is not well but you know how he is. We will be looking forward to Christmas of course."

I felt bad that these sentiments weren't arriving so I told her she had the wrong man, and she apologised. But the emails kept arriving anyway. At Christmas she sent a Christmas greeting that was longer and more heartfelt. I replied as I once again felt bad that it didn't go to the right person, but I couldn't resist adding in "I hope that you and yours have a wonderful festive season."

She sent a nice reply. Not heard from her since then. RIP.

It just goes to show that sometimes love can walk into your life when you least expect it.

xxp i'm also sure the dude in canada used my email to create a dropbox account. when i went there to create an account using my email it told me i already had an account, so i thought that maybe i'd just forgotten about creating it, requested a new password, went in the account and happened upon four or five pics of landscapes, then realised the name shown wasn't mine. last activity on there was from a few years back so i kept the dropbox account and sorry for his 4-5 pics.

one of my namesakes is a real estate agent in la somewhere so I keep getting sent ask these contracts for buying houses.

the mobile waiters receipts always remind me of the generic not-really-fusion hotel foods, or travel foods of generic places. the I think of the food writers who explain never to have the Caesar salad at the Hilton in Bangkok or w/e, because there is no way the ingredients are fresh or it's something anyone cares about preparing and you're a million times more likely to get food poisoning than if you ate street food

Ha, this happened to me with Microsoft Live. I tried to set up a Live account (Win8 tablet apps need it) and someone already had - reset pwd, channge the stupid name and avatar made, now its MINE SUCKER.

I got an email from Apple today saying someone had added my email as their backup emergency recovery thingy. I went to click on something then had second thoughts: Im not sure it was a legit Apple advice.

So the guy with my gov't name in the Bay Area, who usually gets requests to have the jacuzzi fixed in one of the condos he rents or special offers to the San Francisco Symphony, ordered a pair of compression socks that cost $23.49. ONE pair of SOCKS that cost $23.49.

The socks people thoughtfully included his mailing address, which I promptly looked up. It's a hotel in the Tenderloin used by seniors and vagrants.
