i'm lebanese but my personality is amerrrican. i like america, just not american trash. american woman jabbing ppl and screaming "faggot" in a hotel cuz she got embarrassed = american trash. faggot shouldn't be treated lightly, and neither should arguing against it - because wherever you or i may live or whoever we may know, there are still plenty of ppl living in plenty o places that do use the word faggot and the like to great detriment.
though the plain and simple notion of human equality shouldn't need a medal to encourage it (self-righteousness etc.), still these days, as a gay man, i find it worthy of praise.

U-God is awful. His verses are almost uniformly bad, IMHO.RZA is a great lyricist and his beats (at least before 2000), are amazing. GZA's verses are the most cerebral. Inspectah Deck is a hugely underrated lyricist, and while he's not charismatic enough to handle a track alone, he always makes a track better (BTW, check his verse on "Let My Niggas Live"-- it's badass) Ghostface is the most stream-of-consciousness and in many ways the most surreal lyricist. ODB... well, you gotta love ODB. I don't really care for Meth all that much. Wow, I'm listening to the first 25 seconds of "I Can't Go For That (No Can Do)" right now, and it's totally perfect. I love the way all the parts come in, one at a time: the circular bass line interlocking with the crisp drumbeat, then the hypnotic, dreamy synth-swirl, then the clean, stuttering guitar. There's much more to a mood in this song -- wistful, sensual -- than in the pedestrian jangle of the Only Ones.

So who gets to be called 2007's greatest hip-hop single?
