Food in Bay Ridge should be really fun actually! I've been to the East Harbor Seafood Palace (technically in Dyker Heights?) a couple of times--most recently we were almost the only people in this giant banquet hall and all the waiters stood like 4' away from our table to watch us eat. BUSTLING during dim sum hours tho.

the best szechuan place is supposedly in flushing tho i never been there, p good one in midtown szechuan gourmet
