always kinda disappointed by the food options near BAM. smoke joint is not bad but it's not cheap & It gets to crowded in there for me.

Hey JBR, near BAM I like Bati for Ethiopian, Café Lafayette, Frank's Cocktail Lounge and Greenlight Bookstore.

nothing good right in the vicinity but franny's and Romans are the two best italian joints in the city and they're each within a 15 minute walk

Also kaz an nou is a great French Caribbean place sorta nearby on 6th and dean. Haven't been in a while but food was great as of 18 months ago.

show didn't get out until pretty late but ty for the recs and i will keep them in mind for next time (also franny's rules).

u know what place in cr heights is fn bomb that jamican restaurant the islands, the food is super legit and its like a handmade boat inside

what else is really good as far as caribbean food around there thats more contempo but also v chill and not very pricey is gladys, gladys is bomb

frannys has always been overpriced but I was willing to do it because the food was good. but I had a middling to bad meal there the last time ... not feeling their new space either.

also chuko & bar chuko (across street from each other on vanderbilt) are both v good

never had a bad meal at franny's which is priced right with the rest of Brooklyn restaurants... Too expensive but not more so than its peers imo

Chuko and bar chuko are probably close enough and both good. I've never eaten at chuko without a 45 minute plus wait tho

caek, Signature Smile in Brooklyn Heights is pretty good -- nice clean office with very up-to-date equipment and the staff are nice. Don't know if they take UHC or not.
