― Dan I., Monday, 25 August 2014 19:38 (eleven years ago)
those r cool except the snakeskin pattern on the heel is p unconscionable, common projects are kinda just a rich mans basic tennis shoe, im sure there must be some cheapo exact copies of them by now

― lag∞n, Monday, 25 August 2014 19:52 (eleven years ago)
hmm interesting. i just want a really plain white canvas sneaker for next summer. keds?
― call all destroyer, Monday, 25 August 2014 19:55 (eleven years ago)
keds, vans
― lag∞n, Monday, 25 August 2014 19:56 (eleven years ago)
keds are very foot shaped vans have a lil more structural integrity
yeah vans never seemed comfortable to me, will try keds prob

i need new shoes
― example (crüt), Monday, 25 August 2014 20:07 (eleven years ago)
maybe i'll even get two new pairs & stop going the dirt bag style route
― example (crüt), Monday, 25 August 2014 20:08 (eleven years ago)
dayo, yours are my favorite!
I'm living in my Airwalks this year and they are so great. The Keds foot shape isn't my foot shape so they end up twisted out of line and the edges want to roll under wrong, but the square-ish Airwalks are perfect. Blocky supinator feet like mine, take note.

I'm a little disappointed with New Balance's raised prices. I bought my my old running shoes (New Balance 992's — one of the rare models still made in the US) for about $60 in 2008, and they're now selling for $80.

maaaaaan, I can't believe how expensive these have gotten. this year's model (the 990) sells for $130 at the New Balance outlet stores (and about $20 more elsewhere) and it never goes on sale anymore. judging by the reviews, they suffer from some serious quality control issues, and there doesn't seem to be much difference in quality between their Made in USA lines and their imported stuff.
I got the Brooks Beast instead, even though the design is too busy for my taste. I have bad knees, so I prefer ultra-cushiony running shoes even for walking, but it's hard to find a running shoe that really suits my tastes. these are supposedly good for overpronators.

I'm on Brooks Cascadia 9s now, I prefer the 8s but the 9 is what's new. Second pair actually, had the orange one first and now the blue. They've all been really ugly but some people compliment them, like it's some fashion choice to wear bright busy shoes and I'm not just doing it because my feet hurt and they're the most comfortable shoes on the planet. Not cheap either.
― dan selzer, Tuesday, 16 September 2014 04:45 (eleven years ago)
I keep hearing Hoka makes the most comfortable, outrageously cushioned shoe. Even uglier, even more expensive. I thought about mentioning them on the Short thread because they'll add a good 2 inches to your height.

they have bikes on the sole which makes me think they're intended to be bicycling shoes, but they're good comfy all-purpose shoes
