I know the mill they got those from, and they are very nice. Paul Smith Red Ear MIJ and Takumi both use that same denim, albeit it 2-4oz. lighter.

I wanted to get a pair, but I'm worried about the rise. I fear the plumber's crack.
― too many misters not enough sisters (milo z), Friday, 27 February 2009 05:47 (seventeen years ago)
sorry milo, not buying anything with a SUFU reference on it
BTW my students were drawing pictures of their teachers and they took special care to show the, uh, anti-fit on my jeans.
― moonship journey to baja, Friday, 27 February 2009 06:04 (seventeen years ago)
we have a code now, they say "he mr foggy, the vintage cut on your jeans is awesome" and i pull my pants up
― moonship journey to baja, Friday, 27 February 2009 06:06 (seventeen years ago)
they call me mr foggy because sometimes i forget what i'm saying in midsentence, or the names of students as i'm talking to them
but yeah, damn those look like nice jeans
i am really into these: http://www.selfedge.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=76&products_id=395

i'm not sure what the fuck is up with these sugar cane 47s, they fit great in the front but the butt falls down below my waist practically every hour. my wife says to shut up and stop complaining because girl jeans just do that every time you sit down or stand up and i should just get in the habit of pulling my jeans up periodically.
― moonship journey to baja, Friday, 27 February 2009 06:19 (seventeen years ago)
I think that means you have no ass.
― too many misters not enough sisters (milo z), Friday, 27 February 2009 06:44 (seventeen years ago)
yeah. i should do assercises.
― moonship journey to baja, Friday, 27 February 2009 08:02 (seventeen years ago)
yeah that happens to me too, because i have no ass
― max, Friday, 27 February 2009 12:32 (seventeen years ago)

steve - will mark mulder ever get back to the majors? dude is not that old. thank you alot.
― bnw, Monday, 2 March 2009 06:02 (seventeen years ago)
vf: he states no intl shipping but send him an email tomorrow if nobody bids on them tonight and see if he would entertain shipping them to the states.
bnw: i seem to remember that mulder's last injury was caused by either a pitch-out or a pickoff throw which usually indicates it's time to send that pony off to the glue factory. i don't know though, i mean talk about a rapid descent from grace. I read an article this weekend suggesting the long history of Oakland with PEDs that kinda raised my brow: http://sports.yahoo.com/fantasy/mlb/news;_ylt=AoGlv0naapAViCd5tPz0FreFCLcF?slug=rotowire-charging_022409&prov=rotowire&type=lgns

caek,
for 50-70quid that is honestly the best jeans out there. i picked up a pair of black and indigo of the new line and am pretty much in disbelief of the quality and PVP. i'd be all over that if i were you.
― (*゚ー゚)θ L(。・_・) °~ヾ(・ε・ *) (Steve Shasta), Monday, 6 April 2009 18:17 (seventeen years ago)

― (jaxon) ( .) ( .) (jaxon), Monday, 6 April 2009 18:40 (seventeen years ago)
they are on sale for £40 atm. i think i will pick a pair up next time i am in london.
― caek, Monday, 6 April 2009 18:45 (seventeen years ago)
yeah sounds awes. i got a good deal at selfridges uniqlo outpost rather than going to uniqlo direct. good find.

New-style Sugar Cane '47s (um, they say Lot 2009 now) are fantastic - 12oz denim, lower rise and slimmer through the ass/thigh than the regular '47s. They fit a lot like the pair of LVC '47s I have.

― too many misters not enough sisters (milo z), Monday, 6 April 2009 21:58 (seventeen years ago)
i'm not so stoked on my 47s, personally. wish i'd just bought a pair of LVCs instead, for whatever reason they just don't seem to fade that great.
― moonship journey to baja, Monday, 6 April 2009 22:49 (seventeen years ago)
probably i wash them too often or something but i've seen friends with like diesel or gstar jeans that wash the same way i do and they get better looks than the 47s do. in fact the best pair of jeans i've ever seen was a pair of sevens that ametrosexual bro of mine wears, he's had them for like five years and washed once a month and they look awesome. anyway, i plan never ever to wash my hawaiis or okinawas.
― moonship journey to baja, Monday, 6 April 2009 22:51 (seventeen years ago)
they have those uniqlos in my size on ebay for $70 which with $20 shipping seems like maybe too much.
― moonship journey to baja, Monday, 6 April 2009 22:52 (seventeen years ago)
if shipping really is $20 (which sounds about right) then that guy is making a profit of $10 over the current retail, which isn't unreasonable. if he paid retail before they knocked £10 of the price he's actually making a loss.
― caek, Monday, 6 April 2009 23:49 (seventeen years ago)
are they raw or washed?
― moonship journey to baja, Tuesday, 7 April 2009 01:31 (seventeen years ago)
rawwwww

dear steve: what's the best way to wash 501s that you've shitted in?
― moonship journey to baja, Tuesday, 7 April 2009 23:50 (seventeen years ago)
i don't mean to be a dick or nothin but ppl that buy pre-distressed jeans of that degree are despicable savages imo

seriously
― caek, Wednesday, 8 April 2009 11:20 (seventeen years ago)
wtf do I do to figure out how to find a good fit for jeans? I want to break into some nice denim but I've got pretty much no local options and don't feel like randomly buying online with the attitude that I'll return if it doesn't work. For instance, there are some of those uniqlo ones on ebay that look to be in my size, maybe?
There needs to be some chart that compares sizing to some shitty jeans that exist in every department store as a cheat guide
― mh, Wednesday, 8 April 2009 16:10 (seventeen years ago)
hey guys, steve shasta knows more than just jeans and sushi. just sayin'

He knows about Barry Bonds too!

― mh, Wednesday, 8 April 2009 18:33 (seventeen years ago)
shasta, if barry bonds were going to buy a pair of jeans, which would you recommend?
― rip dom passantino 3/5/09 never forget (max), Wednesday, 8 April 2009 18:34 (seventeen years ago)
just change the title of the thread to STEVE SHASTA'S DENIM BAR & SUSHI JOINT
