i love co. idk why ur so into noodletown max, i mean its cool but it was always just a l8 nite spot for me when i lived down there, there are def a bunch of nearby places i like better, 456 shanghai, joe shanghai, grand sechz

lg if you wanna splurge and you like sushi, check out sushi yasuda for lunch... you can probably get out for under 50 per person if you go for lunch and get a set. they only take two booking times per day tho for lunch

i just have so many great memories of noodletown, and have had way better meals there than at 456 or joe shanghai. grand szechuan i agree is great.

theres a good Jewish deli in Rego Park. last one ive had anyway

iirc u did not get the featured dishes when u were there whats yr problem get the pork shoulder and the eggplant thing, tho maybe its all a lil too cloying for yr sensitive pallate tdk

joes shanghai is a tourist trap fwiw go to shanghai asia manor folks!!!

also ronan like basically anything in the tarlow empire is really good for a slightly nicer "brooklyn" restaurant experience. romans is my favorite but reynard and diner are also top notch imo

not food related, but if anyone's in the commonwealth zone tomorrow night I'll be djing late in the back room of a sort of crappy bar across the street called fifth estate
(for a friend's birthday, but it's totally just a bar with a back room where anyone should come hang out... I'll play good tunes)

Reynard's is pretty good. that corner of Wythe is an interesting cluster of nu-fancy Williamsburg stuff (Wythe Hotel, Brooklyn Bowl, Kinfolk etc.)

(interesting or appalling depending on your POV, personally I think the Ides - 6th floor bar in the Wythe, sick Manhattan skyline view - is kinda cool but I know a lot of people probably hate all that stuff)

last wkend there was a "WikiLeaks Mobile Information Gathering Center" parked a block from my apt in wburg, basically a converted U Haul with a satellite dish sticking out the side of the cab

little known #ippudohack if you just hang around the in the bar instead of giving them yr number a two hour wait can magically turn into a half an hour wait

ganso and chuko are both pretty good i think, not ippudo level but decent neighborhood ramen places, also both have good wings and salad and stuff

chuko now has a standard 45-60 minute wait unfortunately
