I know! But I'm not very good at shopping, and after three or four stitched tiger reveals I just fall to my knees and throw up my hands in despair.

Can't remember why caek is in NYC and thread is too long. You have academic position here now?

I Am the Cosimo Code (James Redd and the Blecchs), Saturday, 28 September 2013 15:58 (twelve years ago)

Evil Juice Box Man (LocalGarda), Saturday, 28 September 2013 16:01 (twelve years ago)

caek, Saturday, 28 September 2013 16:23 (twelve years ago)

Where? NYU, Columbia, NJIT?

I Am the Cosimo Code (James Redd and the Blecchs), Saturday, 28 September 2013 16:24 (twelve years ago)

columbia. fixed term faculty thing. not TT. lots of teaching and not much research, which suits me fine.

caek, Saturday, 28 September 2013 16:26 (twelve years ago)

Cool. Have you met Chris W*gg*ns?

I Am the Cosimo Code (James Redd and the Blecchs), Saturday, 28 September 2013 16:32 (twelve years ago)

ภค๓ครՇє (lag∞n), Saturday, 28 September 2013 16:34 (twelve years ago)

I Am the Cosimo Code (James Redd and the Blecchs), Saturday, 28 September 2013 16:34 (twelve years ago)

i haven't! i've heard tell of him though. known to you?

caek, Saturday, 28 September 2013 16:38 (twelve years ago)

people weren't kidding when they said autumn is nice here btw

caek, Saturday, 28 September 2013 16:40 (twelve years ago)

Yes, it is. And yes, I know him, he is a really nice guy. I met him at NYU when I was a grad student and he was a postdoc. Haven't seen him too much recently, he is pretty busy these days though, has three small kids.

I Am the Cosimo Code (James Redd and the Blecchs), Saturday, 28 September 2013 16:42 (twelve years ago)

ha I literally just saw him on college walk I think.

caek, Saturday, 28 September 2013 17:25 (twelve years ago)

Think the last time I saw him was a few years ago when his first kid was a few months old and I went with Chris and ilxor tipsy mothra to see the similarly-named fellow Columbia professor and fellow trombonist Chris Washburne play his old Sunday night gig at Smoke.

Don't understand why all the other ppl in new york aren't in the queue for standby partridge tickets with me and six other British-looking men in their 30s

caek, Saturday, 28 September 2013 18:21 (twelve years ago)

several pubs called the AP film "mediocre"

I have seen about one hour of Partridge TV to date

Miss Arlington twirls for the Coal Heavers (Dr Morbius), Saturday, 28 September 2013 18:31 (twelve years ago)

Oh ja I'm sure it's a dreadful film, don't get me wrong. Coogan is here.

caek, Saturday, 28 September 2013 18:34 (twelve years ago)

plz tell me he was greeted with a mass shout of "ah HAAAAAAH"

Miss Arlington twirls for the Coal Heavers (Dr Morbius), Monday, 30 September 2013 15:50 (twelve years ago)

OK so we will be staying in Crown Heights/mostly at Lincoln Center Wed-Sun. I will be trying to watch as much as possible, so not sure if I'm up for a formal FAP, but then maybe many of you don't know or care who I am anyway. Possible drinks or whatever around festival or CH sounds good though.

Chantal Anchorman (admrl), Monday, 30 September 2013 16:15 (twelve years ago)

CH totes do-able, most of us live somewhere around or within spitting distance.

Tottenham Heelspur (in orbit), Monday, 30 September 2013 16:52 (twelve years ago)

couple of minor ahaaahs, and also someone in the audience tried to coax him into doing his pacino impression. he demurred.

definitely down for swift halves with adam this week.

caek, Monday, 30 September 2013 17:50 (twelve years ago)

Adam, what nights/hours work for you? Let's throw an idea out now so ppl can plan?

Tottenham Heelspur (in orbit), Monday, 30 September 2013 17:53 (twelve years ago)

Or start a fb msg thingy so when anyone updates it we can all see?

Tottenham Heelspur (in orbit), Monday, 30 September 2013 17:54 (twelve years ago)

yes, let's plan this.. i'll be working til 8:30/9 every night this week but afterward i am DOWN to DRINK and/or EAT and/or HANG OUT

ian, Monday, 30 September 2013 18:20 (twelve years ago)

I have seen about one hour of Partridge TV to date

how much of the radio have you heard?

hey I'm back in NYC for two nights next week before finally going to Europe, if anyone'd be feeling FAP-like on Thursday

I'm not a rockist, I just hate Rap-A-Lot (sic), Monday, 30 September 2013 18:41 (twelve years ago)

he did radio? I thought comedy left radio when Jack Benny moved to TV.

for my own selfish ends, there is crucial baseball every night for the next 10 days or so.

Miss Arlington twirls for the Coal Heavers (Dr Morbius), Monday, 30 September 2013 18:48 (twelve years ago)

you know, morbs, if oyu got one of them there smartphones, you could FAP and watch beisbol at the same time!

ian, Monday, 30 September 2013 19:08 (twelve years ago)

they have TVs in bars, ian, and you can't see the spin on a cutter on a phone.

Miss Arlington twirls for the Coal Heavers (Dr Morbius), Monday, 30 September 2013 19:19 (twelve years ago)

^TMI

I thought comedy left radio when Jack Benny moved to TV.

lol America

top of the head, the main pieces of Partridge history go:
radio series
TV series
radio series
TV series
TV special
stage
stage
TV series
(long gap)
TV series
(really long gap)
stage
[the Gibbons brothers arrive, Cooganucci grab a tiger by the tail and hold on gleefully]
web series -> TV series
prose / audiobook (slight differences in content for format)
2 different TV specials (one major one minor, a week apart)
TV series
feature film

whoops should be

radio series
radio special
radio series

at the start. second "stage" might also be out of place. I've been meaning to work this out properly for years and do a chronological rescreen.

OK so I probably need to look at my schedule, but my guess it will probably be a pretty late one Friday or Saturday? I'm at the festival pretty much every day from early afternoon until 10-11ish...

Chantal Anchorman (admrl), Tuesday, 1 October 2013 11:06 (twelve years ago)

there's a bar on 4th Ave full of Oakland fans ideal for a late-night A's game. :)

Miss Arlington twirls for the Coal Heavers (Dr Morbius), Tuesday, 1 October 2013 12:24 (twelve years ago)

Truly, that sounds...ideal. Perhaps they will show Sunderland v. Man Utd too

Chantal Anchorman (admrl), Tuesday, 1 October 2013 12:43 (twelve years ago)

j/k, i am amenable to whatever doesn't get you lost btwn Lincoln Center and Fort Greene. The A's bar is manic during games anyway.

eclectic husbandry (Dr Morbius), Wednesday, 2 October 2013 21:10 (twelve years ago)

Hi I'm in your Fort Greene. I like this Fort - I recognized the block from Dave Chapelle's Block Party and that was exciting. I walked around a bit and it was not at all as douchey as I expected. What's good to see in the neighborhood?

Chantal Anchorman (admrl), Thursday, 3 October 2013 14:56 (twelve years ago)

well the BAM opera house dates from the 19th century, but you can't go in yet.
