I did some bad things last night and this morning the gang is over to hear me repent

had one of those hangovers where you feel every emotion extra intensely, the day i flew back from a trip to cuba

i cried on three separate occasions, in chronological order as well as decreasing order of justification

1) in the morning, seeing a tv news broadcast on the syrian refugee crisis (one of my best friends came to canada as a refugee from afghanistan as a child, and i was at once very happy for the refugees being allowed into our country, and sad for all of those who wouldn't make it)

2) waiting in airport terminal, reflecting on the beauty of the relationship between my mother and her husband. my mother was single and lonely for years after my parent's divorce, and now claims she is the happiest she's ever been, and is married to a 10/10 rock-solid awesome dude

3) the in-flight movie was 'aloha' featuring bradley cooper. there was a technical difficulty and the sound wasn't working so i watched it silently. started crying while reflecting on bradley cooper, how beautiful he is, how many laughs i've shared with him, how happy i am to have let him into my life, how many millions of other people have had similar experiences

i am never ever ever drinking again. never. i mean i felt fucking awful on getting up, and then it just kept on expanding until a i felt like a creature from another planet. Was getting a long-ish coach ride home, and it was just deepening like a coastal shelf into all areas of my physical and mental existence, and then some cheerful italian fuckers started singing along to despacito and i thought I was going to have a portal haemorrhage.

My system teetered between exhaustion from being up until 1:45 a.m. and wanting to submit to a hangover; fortunately, it settled on mere exhaustion.

i kind of love being hungover (ok, maybe not the ones Fizzles is describing) esp when accompanied by the memory of a fun night; feeling the sugar(?) in your veins, shameless languor, always makes me nostalgic

i think so. i had a period where i thought i’d kind of nailed it, and was having four days off booze entirely per week and my consumption even then was v restrained and only in the area of pleasurable enjoyment. and it felt *great*.

then i went all GO BIG GO BIG HIT LES last night. this weather hasn’t helped.

flopson - a version of me knows what you mean and had on occasion described a hangover as “strangely productive” - a sort of fluency and focus out of a slight reduction in sensory capacity. but that version of me is dead now, and i know no hangovers other than this.

did i mention constant waves of sensing that i’m about to hurl?

was real route one drinking.
