flopson, Tuesday, 16 July 2013 19:06 (twelve years ago)

it's an ikea sofa and armchair, allegedly 1 year old (and i believe it from the photos)

hmm

caek, Tuesday, 16 July 2013 19:11 (twelve years ago)

wanted this one http://newyork.craigslist.org/mnh/fuo/3924788356.html but may have low-balled the offer. no reply.

the guy http://newyork.craigslist.org/mnh/fuo/3938477349.html seems reasonable from his texts (ha) and i've talked him down from the asking price

what if i get bed bugs and then i die?

caek, Tuesday, 16 July 2013 19:18 (twelve years ago)

cool comes w/ an ipad

iatee, Tuesday, 16 July 2013 19:19 (twelve years ago)

just carry it home in the nyc sun, that should be hot enough to roast the bugs

mh, Tuesday, 16 July 2013 19:34 (twelve years ago)

if i pay my bill on the ConEd website by giving them my routing and account #, and they now say i don't owe them any money, when should the money actually disappear from my account?

caek, Tuesday, 16 July 2013 22:28 (twelve years ago)

like a day or two, i think?

mookieproof, Tuesday, 16 July 2013 23:04 (twelve years ago)

I don't know what you delicate blossoms are complaining about, I smoke AND sleep in the AC, and apart from being so dehydrated that my eyelids stick to my eyeballs in the morning, I'm absolutely fine.

i have a headache, but i doubt it's from the a/c. it's more likely from the sweating all day everyday.

i guess i'd just rather listen to canned heat? (ian), Tuesday, 16 July 2013 23:53 (twelve years ago)

and not staying hydrated properly.

i guess i'd just rather listen to canned heat? (ian), Tuesday, 16 July 2013 23:53 (twelve years ago)

What do you mean, not staying hydrated. I watched you drink at least 36oz of beer last night, beer has water in it.

Tottenham Heelspur (in orbit), Tuesday, 16 July 2013 23:56 (twelve years ago)

i was driving and walking around all day and had nothing to drink but coffee, it was sooooo not a good idea.

i guess i'd just rather listen to canned heat? (ian), Tuesday, 16 July 2013 23:58 (twelve years ago)

also, there are 16 ounces to the pint not 12.

i guess i'd just rather listen to canned heat? (ian), Wednesday, 17 July 2013 00:00 (twelve years ago)

laurel doesn't do 'pints'

mookieproof, Wednesday, 17 July 2013 00:01 (twelve years ago)

Oh, whoops. I knew pint glasses were 16oz, I just did the math wrong.

I say roll the dice on the couch

If you get bedbugs burn your apt down

乒乓, Wednesday, 17 July 2013 00:25 (twelve years ago)

we turned on the a/c and I immediately got sick, like I do every year when it gets turned on

max, Wednesday, 17 July 2013 00:26 (twelve years ago)

Probably all the mold that grew in there over the winter is getting blown out

乒乓, Wednesday, 17 July 2013 00:31 (twelve years ago)

Do ppl generally remove their window ac between brutal annual sun death epochs?

caek, Wednesday, 17 July 2013 00:59 (twelve years ago)

i do

it is a rite of joy

mookieproof, Wednesday, 17 July 2013 01:06 (twelve years ago)

It's obstructing my view of my neighbour, who looks like Harold from
Season 2 of twin peaks but without a shirt.

Thanks for bill pay tips. Guess ill be phoning ppl tomorrow.

caek, Wednesday, 17 July 2013 01:11 (twelve years ago)

lololol

I don't, I left mine in the window from last summer. The freezing draft in January was a small price to pay to have my own personal Horn of Winter at my disposal as soon as I plugged it in.

Tottenham Heelspur (in orbit), Wednesday, 17 July 2013 01:11 (twelve years ago)

get a fancy one with a reverse fan mode and you can use it as a smoking exhaust fan

mh, Wednesday, 17 July 2013 01:12 (twelve years ago)

Afaict air conditions when they are on "fan" don't bring in any outside air, they just recirculate what's already inside. I've always wanted the outside air option, because then I could also use my a/c as a $200 WINDOW FAN, instead of having to go buy another fan-type machine.

Tottenham Heelspur (in orbit), Wednesday, 17 July 2013 01:13 (twelve years ago)

lol i recall having to break out/situate my a/c unit last year upon arriving home from yr fateful birthday party, in orbit

mookieproof, Wednesday, 17 July 2013 01:21 (twelve years ago)

that one I was installing when I first arrived was a lemon and I have upgraded to one with an external air option. The normal recirculate mode is cheaper to run right?

Now cooling two rooms w 10000
btu and a strategically positioned vornado

caek, Wednesday, 17 July 2013 01:22 (twelve years ago)

xxp oh lol yes that was the weirdest party ever, also the next day was legendary.

xp huh maybe I shouldn't have gotten the cheapest one PC Richards had 3 years ago.

Tottenham Heelspur (in orbit), Wednesday, 17 July 2013 01:33 (twelve years ago)

They make a/c units with a fan, I think? Just not common.

mh, Wednesday, 17 July 2013 02:52 (twelve years ago)

since Tuomas went MIA, let's have a drinkup once the weather gets marginally normal in his absence.

yes to drinks always. max and i were thinking about next thursday?

if i am getting a man with a van, and there are two guys, and the bill is x, do i tip them each 0.2x, or do i tip 0.2x total and have them split it?

caek, Wednesday, 17 July 2013 17:30 (twelve years ago)

kinda depends on x I think

iatee, Wednesday, 17 July 2013 17:32 (twelve years ago)

x is 120

caek, Wednesday, 17 July 2013 17:33 (twelve years ago)

maybe tip them each 15?

iatee, Wednesday, 17 July 2013 17:34 (twelve years ago)

Meant to come to that thing a few Fridays ago, but had to work later than I thought and had a ticket to see Marisa Monte at the Beacon- it was the first time she's been here in seven years. And to think I thought this board had cured me of liking music.

has anyone ever taken the M60 bus from the UWS to LGA for an early (like 6am) flight? is it OK?

caek, Thursday, 18 July 2013 17:48 (twelve years ago)

i've never taken that bus, but at that hour (pre-rush hour) i think it should run pretty close to schedule -- busses in NYC, at least the ones I've taken in brooklyn, are pretty good about keeping to schedule.

i guess i'd just rather listen to canned heat? (ian), Thursday, 18 July 2013 18:46 (twelve years ago)

yeah the schedule seems pretty reliable here based on my upper manhattan experience

caek, Thursday, 18 July 2013 19:08 (twelve years ago)

the nyc bus system is an amazing resource that everyone forgets exist

iatee, Thursday, 18 July 2013 19:15 (twelve years ago)

generally as a rule of thumb the less frequently a bus runs the closer it comes to on time, but the more frequent buses run so frequently it almost doesnt matter

max, Thursday, 18 July 2013 19:25 (twelve years ago)

the only bus line i ever used was cut

yeah i have been here several times before, but this is the first time i've taken the bus, and i'm 100% sure it's because i have a smartphone now that suggests i take the bus.

caek, Thursday, 18 July 2013 20:01 (twelve years ago)

i do what it tells me

caek, Thursday, 18 July 2013 20:02 (twelve years ago)

if you memorize relevant bus lines its like a secret pass that can get you places faster sometimes

iatee, Thursday, 18 July 2013 20:03 (twelve years ago)

like if you see a bus on the street already there and know where it's going it might be better than waiting for the subway
