how bad could it be to be stuck to the couch, forever... (forksclovetofu), Sunday, 7 July 2013 15:26 (twelve years ago)

Coincidentally by being in NY I'm going to miss my own local block party, or "summer fete" in Britisher parlance. No bingo extravaganza for me this year :(

Also thinking about going to see Fanfare Ciocarlia in Central Park on Sunday.

the mod urn dance (seandalai), Sunday, 7 July 2013 16:09 (twelve years ago)

going to see Dr Zhivago on Sat nite

wakaflockinihilipilification (seandalai), Thursday, 11 July 2013 18:29 (twelve years ago)

dmr, Thursday, 11 July 2013 20:34 (twelve years ago)

some other folks are selling tie dye shirts, tchotchkes, granola

dmr, Thursday, 11 July 2013 20:39 (twelve years ago)

caek, Thursday, 11 July 2013 20:40 (twelve years ago)

Yay! Forecast for next week is 33-37 though :(

wakaflockinihilipilification (seandalai), Thursday, 11 July 2013 21:18 (twelve years ago)

I wouldn't mind melting if it wasn't for those daily forecast thunderstorms THAT NEVER HAPPEN!

If it's too cloudy to see Manhattan Stonehenge tomw, Cheap Trick is playing free in Coney.

Isn't a certain Finnish fellow supposed to be here around now?

Orpheus in Hull (James Redd and the Blecchs), Friday, 12 July 2013 00:28 (twelve years ago)

has been incommunicado on the board

playwright Greg Marlowe, secretly in love with Mary (Dr Morbius), Saturday, 13 July 2013 13:03 (twelve years ago)

atypically reserved

Orpheus in Hull (James Redd and the Blecchs), Saturday, 13 July 2013 18:35 (twelve years ago)

Theory: he realized late in the game that there wasn't gonna be time to fap w/us, and feels bad abt it?

Thelema & Louise (Jon Lewis), Saturday, 13 July 2013 18:40 (twelve years ago)

i love his last post:

"Ah, okay. I read Amanda Palmer's Wikipedia page, and it seems she's some sort of an attention-seeker?"

caek, Saturday, 13 July 2013 18:54 (twelve years ago)

his work here is done

wakaflockinihilipilification (seandalai), Saturday, 13 July 2013 19:03 (twelve years ago)

wait, no it's not, he has to run the disco poll

wakaflockinihilipilification (seandalai), Saturday, 13 July 2013 19:04 (twelve years ago)

We could go for a drink and put a picture of Tuomas on the table and say his name three times. Maybe he'd turn up then.

wakaflockinihilipilification (seandalai), Saturday, 13 July 2013 19:15 (twelve years ago)

Jon Lewis theory otm.

Orpheus in Hull (James Redd and the Blecchs), Saturday, 13 July 2013 21:01 (twelve years ago)

Maybe he has been burning the candle at both ends, as the poor thing is wont to do.

Orpheus in Hull (James Redd and the Blecchs), Saturday, 13 July 2013 21:01 (twelve years ago)

is the candle a penis

auscozeichnet (cozen), Saturday, 13 July 2013 21:11 (twelve years ago)

slightly less awful today. woke up last night because i was too cold. splitting headache today. may have put my a/c on a bit too much.

how terrible an idea is it to buy furniture on craigslist? will i get bed bugs? is it something people do?

caek, Tuesday, 16 July 2013 18:32 (twelve years ago)

have bought on cl: tables, chairs, bookcases etc
would buy on cl: sofa in decent shape
would not buy on cl: mattress

iatee, Tuesday, 16 July 2013 18:40 (twelve years ago)

I wouldn't do it. Not worth it if you draw the short straw.

Thelema & Louise (Jon Lewis), Tuesday, 16 July 2013 18:44 (twelve years ago)

ive bought most of my furniture on craigslist, but wouldnt buy a mattress

max, Tuesday, 16 July 2013 18:48 (twelve years ago)

may have put my a/c on a bit too much.

inconceivable

mookieproof, Tuesday, 16 July 2013 18:49 (twelve years ago)

I have pretty much lost my voice after four days in NYC. Probably a combination of pollution and a/c?

wakaflockinihilipilification (seandalai), Tuesday, 16 July 2013 18:56 (twelve years ago)

A/C will do that.

chinavision!, Tuesday, 16 July 2013 19:01 (twelve years ago)

i was in new york this past weekend, super fun. you guys ever eat those fried octopus balls? in that small place with like, maximum capacity 3 customers? so good

flopson, Tuesday, 16 July 2013 19:06 (twelve years ago)

it's an ikea sofa and armchair, allegedly 1 year old (and i believe it from the photos)

hmm

caek, Tuesday, 16 July 2013 19:11 (twelve years ago)

wanted this one http://newyork.craigslist.org/mnh/fuo/3924788356.html but may have low-balled the offer. no reply.

the guy http://newyork.craigslist.org/mnh/fuo/3938477349.html seems reasonable from his texts (ha) and i've talked him down from the asking price

what if i get bed bugs and then i die?

caek, Tuesday, 16 July 2013 19:18 (twelve years ago)

cool comes w/ an ipad

iatee, Tuesday, 16 July 2013 19:19 (twelve years ago)

just carry it home in the nyc sun, that should be hot enough to roast the bugs

mh, Tuesday, 16 July 2013 19:34 (twelve years ago)

if i pay my bill on the ConEd website by giving them my routing and account #, and they now say i don't owe them any money, when should the money actually disappear from my account?

caek, Tuesday, 16 July 2013 22:28 (twelve years ago)

like a day or two, i think?

mookieproof, Tuesday, 16 July 2013 23:04 (twelve years ago)

I don't know what you delicate blossoms are complaining about, I smoke AND sleep in the AC, and apart from being so dehydrated that my eyelids stick to my eyeballs in the morning, I'm absolutely fine.

Tottenham Heelspur (in orbit), Tuesday, 16 July 2013 23:26 (twelve years ago)

otm

mookieproof, Tuesday, 16 July 2013 23:30 (twelve years ago)

i have a headache, but i doubt it's from the a/c. it's more likely from the sweating all day everyday.

i guess i'd just rather listen to canned heat? (ian), Tuesday, 16 July 2013 23:53 (twelve years ago)

and not staying hydrated properly.

i guess i'd just rather listen to canned heat? (ian), Tuesday, 16 July 2013 23:53 (twelve years ago)

What do you mean, not staying hydrated. I watched you drink at least 36oz of beer last night, beer has water in it.

Tottenham Heelspur (in orbit), Tuesday, 16 July 2013 23:56 (twelve years ago)

i was driving and walking around all day and had nothing to drink but coffee, it was sooooo not a good idea.

i guess i'd just rather listen to canned heat? (ian), Tuesday, 16 July 2013 23:58 (twelve years ago)

also, there are 16 ounces to the pint not 12.

i guess i'd just rather listen to canned heat? (ian), Wednesday, 17 July 2013 00:00 (twelve years ago)

laurel doesn't do 'pints'

mookieproof, Wednesday, 17 July 2013 00:01 (twelve years ago)

Oh, whoops. I knew pint glasses were 16oz, I just did the math wrong.

Tottenham Heelspur (in orbit), Wednesday, 17 July 2013 00:15 (twelve years ago)

Multiplication is hard.

Tottenham Heelspur (in orbit), Wednesday, 17 July 2013 00:15 (twelve years ago)

I say roll the dice on the couch

If you get bedbugs burn your apt down

乒乓, Wednesday, 17 July 2013 00:25 (twelve years ago)

we turned on the a/c and I immediately got sick, like I do every year when it gets turned on

max, Wednesday, 17 July 2013 00:26 (twelve years ago)

Probably all the mold that grew in there over the winter is getting blown out

乒乓, Wednesday, 17 July 2013 00:31 (twelve years ago)

Do ppl generally remove their window ac between brutal annual sun death epochs?
