I think Friday night, after a few hours of drinkin', I'm gonna join Helen and Pat and go see our friends WHITE OUT play at The Stone, and anyone who wants to join is welcome. Free jazz/noise show, woohoo. That place is also really hot tho. Literally hot. Like the subway.

the stone is very barren and small, no bar, weak a/c that they turn off during quiet performances (can't really fault them for this tbh), but lots of great people play there. and there are chairs, which is cool, cuz i love sitting down.

yeah I'd probably like it fine, I mean I've enjoyed myself at all kinds of bone-dry 'avant' shows.

nice to know some things never change. i always characterized the smell in bway/lafayette to myself as "hot yogurt"

there's this all in one place called ROAST TOWN that does everything off of 8th ave and 34th... they have an upstairs seating area w/ free wifi that doesn't get too crowded. you won't impress anybody by bringing them there though. i like their takeaway sushi

the upstairs area has no windows. it's dark, like a bar.

but it's not really a sitdown place, or a restaurant even. i'll defer to others
