I successfully moved to Bushwick! Saving some dollars, got a nice rooftop view, roommates seem all right so far. But like I said, those Columbia buildings are perfectly nice. Roughly where's it at?

what is the commute like from bushwick. i looked at brooklyn a little, but only along the 2/3, and all plans for non-columbia stuff fell apart when my visa got delayed

I've made it in 50 mins but the trains had to line up perfectly. Working on getting my bike time down/finding the perfect route. I definitely think you beat it living on 119th. ;)

winnie's has karaoke, there's also another one called the upstairs bar that has karaoke but i've never actually seen anyone do the karaoke

winnies has karaoke but theres no reason that anyone has to karaoke its not like you have to get a room or anything. otoh iirc winnies is kinda pricey

winnies is fine for the area... $6 beers i think. problem is all the fidi bros who go there to do karaoke

theres a bar down the street that has private karaoke rooms. but i guess that's the opposite of what is being asked for

lol what? that's never happened to me...i've never been on a weekend though.

It was a 2-drink minimum and there is probably no time in my life I have not had more than two drinks if I went to a bar so it wouldn't have been a problem, it was just a hot day and several people asked to start with water and the hostess was insistent.

may i suggest we find some place with a $4 or $5 shot & beer special for those of us who are underemployed.

there's a good free show at the Seaport on the 29th for anyone so inclined. Kurt Vile, Parquet Courts, Marnie Stern, a bunch of other stuff. at Pier 17 from 1 to 8pm. I will def. be at that.
