i was gonna give honest credit to the journalist for reporting a 'lol internet' story with some seriousness and compassion, but there are a few missing pieces to that story.

I took an anatomy course in high school (which was pretty terribly taught) and the only thing I remember is the day we looked at slides of people with conditions like that. I think the professor was literally like "hey I suck at teaching, my students don't care, and the school hasn't even ordered enough textbooks...EVERYBODY LOOK AT THESE GIANT BALLS!"

yeah for sure. The fact that it never happened before doesn't really "refute" that theory, because any number of subtle things could have changed that would affect the vibrations.
