i lurked for about a year after posting for a few months but in the end i started posting again. i was quite shocked at how much i knew about people by then, it made me excessively circumspect.

I took a year off and I'll tell you, it was work at times.

listen, dunk. i'm not really creeped out. it's just completely foreign to me that someone could sit for eight years on the sideline without so much of a peep.

lurkers should be commended for their restraint.

I mostly watched ilm and posted on the very rare occasion, for years. Eight years later and leaning on ile heavily after a life crisis, here I am.

not only have i never lurked, i have never read an ilx post aside from my own, and those only as i was typing them

ILE can be such a cliquey place sometimes, with all these in-jokes and funny language and special ways of doing things, that I wonder how it must seem to the outsiders - do they feel excluded? do they feel intimidated? do they think we're strange and unapproachable?
And then I realise I don't care. Because it's the weird silly stuff on ILE which makes me love this place so much

ilx can be kind of mean and i enjoyed the schadenfreude....main things spurring me to post: 1) learning of the existence of 77 and the prospect of never knowing what happened on this secret board was slowly driving me insane and 2) i have seen several ilxors irl in baltimore (strongo, drew d, and stevie d) and the fact that i knew who they were and actually knew things about them but couldn't say hello to them seemed like the weirdest thing and it really bugged me for a long time. also i gained alot from ilx over the years, it's def changed my life in terms of ways i think about and listen to music and interpret fiction so i wanted to give something back and say thanks guise. you have no idea how much shit i've stolen from you and passed off as my own observations.
