I have noticed the year-round clementine bullshit. We started buying them in the middle of summer and the were cheap and plentiful and fucking good. After a month though, Safeway was trying to pass off these bruised, bitter fruits for like $9 a box. Someone made a stupid deal somewhere along the line.Anyway, I checked the clementines yesterday. The fruits looked better, but there were only a few of them rattling around in the box, once again for $9. It wasn't so long ago boxes of clementines were so full that one or two fruits would dislodge themselves from the netting and roll around on the floor of your car on the way home from the grocery store. R.I.P. America.
