stefan goldmann - lunatic fringe

i'm assuming this has nothing to do with the Red Rider song of the same name from the early 80s?

jaxon, Saturday, 5 January 2008 00:48 (eighteen years ago)

no but it is a pretty good minimal house track w/eastern european (?) choir stuff over the top. and yes I know "pretty good minimal house track" only has another few months of shelf life before I get lynched for writing it.

Dominique, Saturday, 5 January 2008 00:50 (eighteen years ago)

haha no, nothing that beardo

it's a house track with a vocal sample of a choir underneath

xp

dmr, Saturday, 5 January 2008 00:52 (eighteen years ago)

hah. red rider's not beardo. it's a canadian rock band w/tom cochran ("Life Is a Highway"). i really like 'lunatic fringe'. sorta reminds me of solo joe walsh stuff

http://bp1.blogger.com/_mKDg9EjtQb4/R3yoMZee8_I/AAAAAAAAAkA/jl5-mLfnsik/s400/vondur.jpg

Vondur's "Stridsyfllysing" came out in 1996 to derision and scorn, but fuck that, I love this album. From it's Star Wars art to it's moronic riffs to it's utterly lame drum machine, pure retard art from Sweden. Kind of strange that this sells on eBay for up to $75, but then again, people are fucking stupid. Just download it here, and use it to end the party when you've had enough of your douchebag friends.

omar little, Thursday, 10 January 2008 18:07 (eighteen years ago)

sweet

I dl'd an Absolute Body Control record off that site instead. When I opened the folder and saw the song titles it made me laugh that there is a Belgian minimal synth song called "Lonely at Christmas."

Vangelis - My Love - 7" single from the See You Later sessions

just as demented as the rest of the album. sounds like he was listening to a lot of Sparks.

http://www.engelen.demon.nl/seeoutt.htm
http://www.vangelismovements.com/mylove.htm

here's the compilation that has the other tracks if you're brave enough for the whole haul

Milton Parker, Friday, 11 January 2008 22:18 (eighteen years ago)

actually that comp only has the b-side of the 7", it doesn't have 'Gestation' or 'We Are Your Neighbors' (tracks that were left off the album at the last minute that recently surfaced on a white label test pressing from 1980). See You Later is his strangest record, if anyone with soulseek could see if they're around I'd be indebted

will to live - 12" ep (1986)
http://www.sendspace.com/file/p3yrc2

it's rare that I actually get off my duff and rip some treasured vinyl artifact to digital format, but ever since amor fati's name was invoked on the ilm pigfucker poll I've been haunted by the hankering to cue up this crusty skull. apparently I'm the only person to have ever owned this record, so the typical slsk / blogspot route was of no avail and I was forced to violate the crypt doors. lucky youse.

featuring the peerless vocal + gtr stylings of perpetual also-ran amor fati aka amaury perez, this is a foghorn leghorn blast of black soot recorded afterhours by the wise, malfunctioning robots of an aluminum can factory. industrial back when industrial meant something besides too much dippity doo in yr hair, it comes on with the spastic mutant lovechild charm of early big black / cab voltaire. hee.

yeah, I stumbled across that footage during my ransacking of the internet for af goodness.

this guy's got the amor fati/vandal-x album, which is also a thing divine:

http://thethingonthedoorstep.blogspot.com/2007/08/amor-fati-vandal-x-against-nature.html

and booty overflowing the coffers! gives mr. mutantsounds a run for the money.
