Wha...? I wasn't trying to be contentious or anything. I like the Noise Board and most of its denizens and didn't think it was controversial to point out that there are threads on the Noise Board that have equivalents on ILE/ILM. The "what are you listening to?" thread is another one. The point of me bringing it up at all was that Hurting said he was posting here because he couldn't post to "posts very much in character" (presumably because he's banned?), which made me think that he could've posted to "ILEpitaphs," since it's basically the same thread.

This is the only thread I managed to find on them. The search engine here is so fucked up that it makes you look for every single thread mentioning the word "Band" in it. It doesn't matter whether you put quotation marks around "S.O.S. Band", either. Anyway I've just made myself a whole CD of them and I'm a fucking CAPPY HAMPER. Disco married with early 80's R&B,it's a delight. Where are the fucking strawberries of love? This is romantic funk, man. That's the best way to say what they are is romantic funk.

About seven years ago, I was at some shitty party at Chelsea Piers and there was some dink walking around in a "vintage" Queensryche t-shirt (specifically the cover of Queen of the Ryche). Given the nature of the function and the type of crowd gathered, I was quick to suspect that the dude was wearing it "ironically." Having already imbibed the first of a few too many, I accosted him about it. "So, are you wearing this shirt because you're actually a fan of the band?" I asked. The guy looked immediately uncomfortable. "...or are you just wearing it for its kitsch value?" I continued. "ummm...both?" he offered, unconvincingly. I believe I spat at the ground in front of him and walked away (`cos I'm a jerk like that). And I don't even like Queensryche, and never have.

m coleman, Thursday, 2 August 2007 10:16 (eighteen years ago)

There is some good stoff on the "All For You" album. However, that first single is not among the good stuff. It is way too staccato, way too similar to the R&B crap dominating way too much of the current charts.

The title track is better, with its classic early 80s beat replacing the contemporary R&B sounds.

Graphic designer here going on 2 years of unsteady employment. Bills piling up, ready to shoot self. If only gun was available. No gun available, thus looking for work. In past 3 months, I've made a whopping $1200. Bankruptcy is a sweet looking option, but wouldn't help much without a job to start fresh on.
Been trying to get jobs at bookstores and things, too, but I guess they'd rather hire people in college or something.

Yep. Thank god George Bush is taking care of everything...

Seriously, any leads? Anyone? Selfish of me, I know, but I figure this place is viewed less by jobseekers than any place that actually advertises jobs.

even though you're right, it doesn't make sense at all.

Dan I., Monday, 6 August 2007 22:33 (eighteen years ago)

isn't it "sort of"?

chicago kevin, Monday, 6 August 2007 22:34 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah. "sort've" doesn't make sense. But "sort'f" doesn't work, and I just don't have time to be typing that "o" all the time!

Actually this morning I had my usual 12 cups of coffee. Then i found out that the elevator in my building was broken as usual. So walking down the 7 flights of stairs I was farting quite vigourously, then about 10 minutes later I noticed some of the farts had a more persistent feeling of moistness than is generally tolerable. So I went into the nearest internet cafe to use the toilet and expecting to find a few random stains on my underwear I instead unfortunately found a swamp in there. So I washed my ass and threw the underwear in a garbage can and am now sitting here 'commando' in an internet cafe somewhere in north London if anyone's interested

Oh, I don't think you use it that often. It's just that a long time ago when I saw Alex in NYC use it, I went to the archives to see if it was an isolated occurrence and found that no, he'd used it hundreds of times. And lo and behold, someone else had used it, too.
