Worked with a guy who'd take days off from work to go follow some locomotive from one side of the state to the other. I'm glad he only posted still pictures online.

And as I played this, the two-year-old boy ran in from the other room, so excited because he heard the train's horn.

My cousin worked on a rail grinder for a couple of years in the early 90s and both loathed and was fascinated by the insane guys who would go nuts when they spotted their machine and take pictures while dressed in their Oskosh B'Gosh train engineer outfits. His crew all called them TQs (for "train queers") instead of "foamers".

Guy's FB folder I screengrabbed this from contains 101 pictures. This was the most interesting clump of them I could find.

The whole DJ with a MacBook thing has so passed me by. I know I'm old because I've never been to a party where that was happening.

There was one guy in our office who's a DJ who stepped up to the mic apparently one night and let someone else handle the laptop. He's into his rap and the music pauses, so on the silent beat, he starts bellowing, "HIT THE SPACEBAR, HIT THE SPACEBAR MAC. HIT THE SPACEBAR, HIT THE SPACEBAR, MAC."

Or so I heard. Again, last time I was at a dance party, we would have to wait between songs as the CD player shuffled from one disc to another.
