this is a long-shot but has anyone had any dealings with WLM Properties? i am trying to figure out if it is for real--they offered to hook me up with a furnished room as soon as i get into town and then an apartment when one becomes available, but they want me to make a deposit to reserve the room and i am not really comfortable doing that without seeing the room.

i can never open this thread at work because of the venus penistrap, hope everyone made it through the storm, i love this place.

recs now based on recent experience - skip teh aquarium. obv. - it might be good, but an aquarium is an aquarium, and for the same price you can go to the AVAM and take a water taxi, which are much more distinctive (likewise, the Greek/Roman/Egyptian stuff at the Walters, which is free, is v good, but you can see that stuff elsewhere too). instead, go directly do not pass go to the AVAM, where the current exhibit has some great stuff. i'd say at least 1.5-2 hours. i spent twice that, including in the store. definitely play with the music box on the first floor and also the audio thing downstairs near the bathrooms (and check out the bathroom entrance on the third floor, which has the least interesting stuff). you can do water taxis out to Fells late in the day when stuff is closing and it isn't as hot out and it's beer time.

i hadn't been able to reach my dad today (he's like a block from the water and was flooded pretty bad by hurricane irene), but when i looked at the sun website this morning it all made it sound like fells was doing fine.

Meanwhile friends inform me that Fells Point did get whacked, but relative to Jersey and Delmarva Shores, not that hard. OC got clobbered by anyone's standards.

Other Considerations
Weight: Segway recommends the maximum weight of riders be restricted to 260lbs, as this will ensure the maximum battery usage. Some folks maybe a little over this weight and this will not generally affect the performance of the segway
