tim ellison, did you make it to this?

future nyc visitors should stop by, great stuff

sanskrit, Thursday, 7 June 2007 20:02 (nineteen years ago)

No. On Monday, I wandered around in the rain and then went to the airport and then rode on an airplane for a long time and then I was home again!

Tim Ellison, Friday, 8 June 2007 00:02 (nineteen years ago)

I am free tomorrow (Friday 6/8) 1pm-6:00pm and 8:30pm onward.

dmr, Friday, 8 June 2007 16:56 (nineteen years ago)

I'll be out of here at maybe 2pm? But I need afternoon naaaaaaaap or I am not getting anywhere tonight. Thinking of visiting Yerac, if she's working tonight?, or a friend at Goodbye, Blue Monday (where I have never been).

Laurel, Friday, 8 June 2007 17:08 (nineteen years ago)

I'm lovin you from West 26th St, SS.

Dr Morbius, Friday, 8 June 2007 17:17 (nineteen years ago)

if i had my phone, i would text yerac to see if she's on duty. that would be a good destination.

lauren, Friday, 8 June 2007 17:17 (nineteen years ago)

oh, you do..i didnt know...discounts or not, still best bar in the city if weather is right...

ok, overstatement...but it makes me happy...

bb, Friday, 8 June 2007 17:40 (nineteen years ago)

bell_labs, Friday, 8 June 2007 17:41 (nineteen years ago)

what door do you use to head str8 for the drinks?
I should go on some weekday i take off.

Dr Morbius, Friday, 8 June 2007 17:53 (nineteen years ago)

forgot of those. too much to see, but lady freind can't go today so maybe i go quickly today and then again in two weeks

i have two seperate invites to "events" at watertaxi beach in l.i.c. tonight...dunno what else is on, but seems like that joint might be the vortex for "fun" in north bk/queens tonight

doc, i just go str8 back from central entrance...elevators by the decorative section with lots of neuveau stuffs...including that amazing bureau/closet thing

bb, Friday, 8 June 2007 17:55 (nineteen years ago)

I texted her, Lauren. No answer yet but I'll post when I hear.

bb, I'd like to try that "beach" thing sometime but tonight I need budget fun, so will prob stay where I know the bartenders....

Laurel, Friday, 8 June 2007 17:57 (nineteen years ago)

dr. morbs - straight back through arms & armour/dec arts or go left and through greek and african/oceanic.

i always meant to go to water taxi beach when i lived in queens, but never made it! have heard good things.

bell_labs, Friday, 8 June 2007 18:04 (nineteen years ago)

Okay, she's not working tonight but she could meet up and be a good hostess if we wanted to go!

Laurel, Friday, 8 June 2007 18:11 (nineteen years ago)

water taxi beach = hstencil beefland

Catsupppppppppppppp dude 茄蕃, Friday, 8 June 2007 18:17 (nineteen years ago)

xpost

water taxi beach is okay. great skyline view, sand in toes vs. expensive drinks, wack music.

I haven't gone for any particular "event" just a couple random fridays last year

dmr, Friday, 8 June 2007 18:20 (nineteen years ago)

Frankly if you can't get in the water, I'm not interested.

Laurel, Friday, 8 June 2007 18:21 (nineteen years ago)

you want to get in the water where the ferries pull up and dock?

dmr, Friday, 8 June 2007 18:22 (nineteen years ago)

Oh, I dunno, I don't even know what the waterside is like there. But I'm not interested in sand without swimming.

Laurel, Friday, 8 June 2007 18:28 (nineteen years ago)

fake beach

jhøshea, Friday, 8 June 2007 18:32 (nineteen years ago)

hmm... mark bar is always relatively uncrowded, has $4 well drinks, and a good jukebox if crazy dancing chimay-drinking yuppie man isn't there to monopolize it (though seeing him frug to white light/white heat is mildly interesting).

lauren, Friday, 8 June 2007 18:34 (nineteen years ago)

hey someone was telling me abt belgian beer garden somehwere in village maybe on bleeker anyone know abt this? is good or full dbagz?

jhøshea, Friday, 8 June 2007 18:41 (nineteen years ago)

Is that Vol de Nuit? I went on a date there once, the date was ill-fated but the bar was lovely, has frites and a beautiful, enclosed front courtyard for outside sitting.

Laurel, Friday, 8 June 2007 18:44 (nineteen years ago)

yeah that place is cool, I would recommend

gets a little rich-eurotrashy I guess but I wouldn't say it's full of dbags

dmr, Friday, 8 June 2007 18:50 (nineteen years ago)

yeah that must be it thx dudes - ill try it out - right on w4th and 6th ave

http://www.voldenuitbar.com

jhøshea, Friday, 8 June 2007 18:53 (nineteen years ago)

that place has its pluses, can get a bit full of it, depending on whos shopping that day, but...

yeah, i dunno...ive heard such mixed things about this "beach" i kinda just wanna have a few watery coctails someplace and read my book

i suppose i should break down and finish my work so i can get outof here

bb, Friday, 8 June 2007 18:56 (nineteen years ago)

lndsy,

dont know if im going to make it to museum after all..getting outta here so late

gonna head up that way, though

bb, Friday, 8 June 2007 20:49 (nineteen years ago)

ok b! roof drinks another time?

bell_labs, Friday, 8 June 2007 20:54 (nineteen years ago)

I guess I will call Shasta (or Laurel) later to see where ppl are. Think I will be coming from EV screening of Geo Kuchar's Unstrap Me at Anthology!

Dr Morbius, Friday, 8 June 2007 21:04 (nineteen years ago)

i am suddenly going to a wnba game tonight, but if anyone wants drinks after, call/txt me and i'll meet up anywhere!

tehresa, Friday, 8 June 2007 22:30 (nineteen years ago)

have we decided anything?

Yerac, Friday, 8 June 2007 23:21 (nineteen years ago)

Okay people -- I think Lauren & Shasta are making an effort to meet up but as for me, I think I might be doing a bar visit in Bushyick and a party that Jon knows about, because I really like the guy who's throwing it. However am open to suggestions, so txt away. I will also be biking unless it pours rain, so I can swing up to greenpoint or etc if called for.

Laurel, Friday, 8 June 2007 23:30 (nineteen years ago)

It is, of course, supposed to thunderstorm tonight, but that's what they said LAST Friday, and I don't think it rained a drop here.

Laurel, Friday, 8 June 2007 23:31 (nineteen years ago)

ok went there @ 4 was great would return is midnight am drunx ty fyi

jhøshea, Saturday, 9 June 2007 03:53 (nineteen years ago)

hey someone was telling me abt belgian beer garden somehwere in village maybe on bleeker anyone know abt this? is good or full dbagz?

A friend of mine who spent a lot of time in Europe recently chastised me for referring to anything that's not a large, open space as a "beer garden." I suppose she's right - it is sort of wanky, not to mention inaccurate to call bars "beer gardens" just because they are German or Belgian themed.

Hurting 2, Saturday, 9 June 2007 04:08 (nineteen years ago)

it has outdoor space tho

dmr, Saturday, 9 June 2007 05:34 (nineteen years ago)

but I guess so do a lot of other regular bars wit patios

dmr, Saturday, 9 June 2007 05:35 (nineteen years ago)

have we decided anything?

DO WE EVER???
