i tried a bigger one first, which was a huge mistake, she freaked the fuck out, but this one went a bit easier. still she walked around for a few hours all "the FUCK you trying to do to me?" before she got near me again.

My dog got stitches last fall and when we got her home in the collar she just stood utterly motionless in a catatonic state where we set her down for like two hours until she fell asleep and tipped over. It was tragically sad and riotously funny at the same time.

there was a great episode of "life goes on" where they did surgery on arnold without telling corky and then put the cone on him. corky is having nightmares about "invaders from mars" and when he comes out of his bedroom to get a glass of milk or something arnold comes trotting into the room w/ the cone on his head and corky freaks out because he thinks he's been replaced w/ a martian dog.

We drugged our eldest cat for the last vet visit (a home visit, which was supposed to be easier on her, but instead resulted in Jeff getting to hear the full force of her enraged screaming as she tried to kill the vet in our spare bedroom) and at one point, she was trying to arm crawl across the wooden floors, but couldn't get traction with her legs, which were just flailing in place. It was awful and hilarious. I was actually crying and laughing at the same time.
