nv iirc?

the ellipses were cuz u said lol and vmic in the vmic thread hence redundant also cuz im not sure to what extent the lol is derived from it just being vvvvmic or from the vmnic logical flaws (emphasizing the ajar freezers & coldness of iceland in a comparison where iceland is supposedly less cold) or maybe for the suggestion that such expressions of the travails of everyday suburbia are really phatic expressions of minor disquiet and their value is not in reason but in the utterance alone

this post brought to u in association with sarahels aspiewatch 2k12

I don't get the freezer joke(?)...

Tuomas, Thursday, 2 February 2012 13:55 (fourteen years ago)

the lol, iirc, (for who can hold an ephemeral emotion such as lol in their mind for long) was indeed a separate entity from the lol of the vvvmicness of the original pun, hence the decision/whim (i wont say 'need' tbh) to catalogue it as was.

The lol itself maybe wasn't a partic strong lol, maybe not so much a lol as a qs, but, and i don't wish to overdo the rhetorical q's, who among us has not bytimes posted 'lol' when tbf we have not lol'd and in fact may not have even smiled irl, merely noted internally a fleeting satisfaction at the juxtaposition or context presented us by the subject?

You're not supposed to post your own VMICs here.

OK, here's the breakdown:

1 - Iceland is a UK supermarket chain that sells mainly frozen food.
2 - said food is stored in freezers with glass doors
3 - shoppers often leave the doors open instead of closing them properly
4 - consequently the temperature inside the freezers increases
5 - it's cold in the UK at the moment, so cold that it's colder than a freezer in Iceland that's been left with it's door open
6 - that's the joke
7 - wait that's not even a joke any more
8 - here's the real breakdown:
9 - <weeps uncontrollably>

v much so

The term “hipster racism” from Carmen Van Kerckhove at Racialicious (nakhchivan), Thursday, 2 February 2012 14:14 (fourteen years ago)

(emphasizing the ajar freezers & coldness of iceland in a comparison where iceland is supposedly less cold)

of course if you actually leave a freezer open, the room will heat up.

ledge, Thursday, 2 February 2012 14:16 (fourteen years ago)

tbh i had considered that snoball but it seemed weirdly oblique to consider the temperature inside the freezers when preaumably most visitors to iceland are not inside the freezers.....altho i guess u are envisaging a situation where the whole store is ambiently refrigerated and could in some sense be its own freezer

ledge that could be right but subjectively id guess iceland shoppers would feeeel cooler and probably say brrrr if a freezer was wide open next to them, tho obv snoball is privileging the temperature perception of the food items resident in freezers such as ice cream tubs or frozen chips

The term “hipster racism” from Carmen Van Kerckhove at Racialicious (nakhchivan), Thursday, 2 February 2012 14:29 (fourteen years ago)

snoball obv inside the freezer, of necessity?

flags post o fu (darraghmac), Thursday, 2 February 2012 14:31 (fourteen years ago)

that would be if he was vmic but many itt will think him vmnic

The term “hipster racism” from Carmen Van Kerckhove at Racialicious (nakhchivan), Thursday, 2 February 2012 14:33 (fourteen years ago)

like a snoball in a hell of semantic whimsy

tbh im chill w/ alienating the right ppl with faux naif recursive questioning but clogging the vmic thread with snow puns might alienate the wrong ppl

The precipitation of this thread into laboured snow-based puns is regrettable
