i want a gun

i just got home to brohio and my apartment smells like a basement. i'm not sure why but it could be mouse turds that i can't see. also i didn't wash my sheets before i left (i didn't think they were that dirty anyway) so my room smells like a gym locker and my hott landlord just had to come over because the gas got turned off so i had to tell him it smelled like mice or basements and i'm afraid he thought it was me. also my stovetop was incredibly dirty because that's the one thing i fucking HATE to clean (it just doesn't get clean, all that baked on crap). i'm pretty sure he didn't mind that but i hate when people might find out you are a dirtbag.

once i left some dirty dishes on the counter and didn't wash them because the sink was clogged for a couple days and after it got fixed i got really really busy and had no time to clean them and they got fruit fly eggs in them :( i've learned my lesson, though

three weeks pass...
I just found a plate with saran wrapped pieces of cake on it buried under stuff in the back seat of my car.

The best case scenario places it at December 15th (2006).

Huh.

I just ate a pitcher of buffalo wings on a dare tonight (no lie), so I think I might hold off for the moment.

I'm not making this any better for myself, am I?

If I can find batteries for my camera tomorrow, I will document both this cake/backseat issue, and the bi-monthly cleaning of the apartment fridge. Not for the weak of heart.

MY FLOOR HAS BEEN COVERED IN PAPERS, MAGAZINES, OLD BOOKS, OLD PHOTOS, AND MISCELLANEOUS DEBRIS FOR TWO OR THREE WEEKS NOW. I STARTED CLEANING OUT MY CLOSET AND GAVE UP. THEY LIVE THERE NOW. I'M JUST SQUATTING.

BEDROOM HALF OF APARTMENT COVERED IN DIRTY CLOTHES. NEED TO WASH SHEETS AND TOWELS TOO. FEBREZE NO LONGER WORKING.

BATHROOM SINK COVERED IN FINE LAYER OF FILTH. ALSO HAIR.

MY KITCHEN SINK KEEPS GETTING STOPPED UP AND VOMITING WEIRD GROSS WATER AND GUNK.

BIRD POOPED ON MY JACKET. I CLEANED IT OFF WITH A WET NAP.

sometimes great inventions are result of dirt bag style like a few years ago I was eating a lot of rice and tended to get distracted about cooking so there was often delicious roasted rice very stuck at the bottom of the cooking pot, almost only removable by boiling watrer in it again, and since I had only one pot to cook and to heat up water for my tea at one point dirt bag style kicked in and I used the same water. That's how Genmaicha (Popped-Rice tea) got invented again (i bet that's how it got invented in the first place)

otm re: smartwool

i have been cleaning, and not just staring at piles of stuff but dismantling them, catharsis style.

i have been cleaning, and not just staring at piles of stuff but dismantling them, catharsis style.

i did some serious cleaning this weekend and expected to finish re-arranging my apartment but instead i've gone back to throwing laundry all over the place and letting dirty dishes pile up while i have things like dismantled bookcases and piles of cds and armchairs sitting in the middle of rooms.

chicago kevin (chicago kevin), Tuesday, 30 January 2007 18:24 (nineteen years ago)

srsly, that squalor survivors site puts everything in perspective

i did eat taco chips and chipotle salsa for breakfast though

it's like $3 more in the end! so worth it

trans pacific donkey cell phone (sleep), Tuesday, 30 January 2007 18:36 (nineteen years ago)

i'm always afraid that they will shrink my clothes, but it's probably cheaper than buying new socks!

bell labs (bell_labs), Tuesday, 30 January 2007 18:38 (nineteen years ago)

i always just tell them to use low/mid dry

but yeah inevitably they'll mess it up sooner or later

trans pacific donkey cell phone (sleep), Tuesday, 30 January 2007 18:42 (nineteen years ago)

I only give them sheets, towels, and gym clothes. Everything that might be hurt by drying, I do myself -- but at least there's less waiting and folding overall.
