So here's the email dialogue from over a month ago. Not sure who Ryan is.
I answered him honestly: we're hoping to do reissues, but there will not be a box set (as tinymixtapes) reported.

Since then we confirmed we will reissue 5 titles separately. The Pitchfork story was 100% correct.

Hi Ryan-

This is not true at all, I don't know where they got this information from. We are discussing re-releasing some of the Super Roots records in the US, but nothing has been confirmed, and there will not be a box set. That will wait until Super Roots 10, whenever that will be.

Thanks for the info on Yamamoto- very appreciated.

two weeks pass...
Deitch Projects is pleased to announce 77 DRUM, a staggering 77-drum kit installation by Boredoms. For this exhibition, opening 7/7, the four band members will be filling 18 Wooster Street with 77 drum kits, which they will be using both as artwork, architecture, and principally for activation. Rivers of cymbals and mountains of drums flank the centerpiece of the show: a circular platform on which the band Boredoms will play and unprecedented two free live shows. Filling out the exhibition will be contributions by Hisham Bharoocha, Tomo Gokita, Naohiro Ukawa, and Seigo Fukuda.

So uhh...is this new Boredoms tour going to be worth seeing? I already asked this on ILM but I can't make up my fucking mind whether its worth a 300 mile drive or not.

Lee is Free (Lee is Free), Friday, 2 June 2006 00:31 (twenty years ago)

Its probably going to be pretty similar to every boredoms show from 2003 on.... if you haven't seen V∞redoms go!

Courtney Gidts (ex machina), Friday, 2 June 2006 04:14 (twenty years ago)

yep

bb (bbrz), Friday, 2 June 2006 14:12 (twenty years ago)

Its probably going to be pretty similar to every boredoms show from 2003 on....

see, if you were to replace "boredoms" with "v00redoms" it would prevent a lot of confusion (also replace "2003" with "2000"...)

Steve Shasta (Steve Shasta), Friday, 2 June 2006 14:37 (twenty years ago)

Was "Sunload" played in the 2000 shows?

Kramkoob (Catsupppppppppppppp dude 茄蕃), Friday, 26 September 2008 01:47 (seventeen years ago)

Not 100% sure but i think Ions is the guy that tunes the Sevena..?

Boredoms in Osaka last week was unbelievably good - started off with Yoshimi & 2 other drummers (both new) playing a super slow beat - then all of a sudden someone starts drumming at the back of the venue: it's Yojiro being carried to the stage on a bamboo platform.
They did Acid Police with all 4 drummers and a guitarist lasted at least 20 minutes... There was also so much new stuff they i don't think they've played at the recent US shows, and the whole thing felt somehow a little looser... (tho obv not quite the right word)

prior, Friday, 26 September 2008 09:37 (seventeen years ago)

They've been playing stuff from Super Æ lately as well as some afrobeaty yoshimi stuff. I kind of want to order the new remix 12"…
