6/7/2011, imma drop that body work / fuck my brains out double single (TERIUS NASH aka THE-DREAM, LOVE IV: anticipation and adoration)

I need some punctuation in there somewhere.

the box cutter killer from the calcutta gutter (GOTT PUNCH II HAWKWINDZ), Friday, 6 January 2012 10:00 (fourteen years ago)

i mean, is it "imma drop that body work"/"fuck my brains out" double single or what? don't make me click on it.

the box cutter killer from the calcutta gutter (GOTT PUNCH II HAWKWINDZ), Friday, 6 January 2012 10:01 (fourteen years ago)

"body work/fuck my brains out" was the double single.
Dream has a lyric where he talked about dropping his next album in 2011 ("6/7/2011, ahma drop that Love Affair"). He didn't but he did drop the single. Love IV is a reference to the fact that his prior three albums all have love in the title: Love Hate, Love vs Money, Love King.

Thug Luftwaffle (forksclovetofu), Friday, 6 January 2012 14:21 (fourteen years ago)

Thank you. I kept thinking "fuck my brains out double single" was a line with some weird In-N-Out Burger reference.

i really need to spend more time on the west coast if that's an ordering option.

The thing that really bothers me about this is the general Radiohead fan community's insistence on calling their albums "LP7" "LP8" etc before they come out. ILX is not the first place I've seen this. Brony levels of dork shit.

Kenneth Toilethole (Whiney G. Weingarten), Monday, 12 March 2012 19:49 (fourteen years ago)

that's the part that really bothers you?

sarahell, Monday, 12 March 2012 19:53 (fourteen years ago)

What would you suggest as an alternative?

an elk hunt (Ówen P.), Monday, 12 March 2012 19:54 (fourteen years ago)

Many bands refer to an untitled album-in-progress as LP[#] I don't think it's either dorky or Radiohead-specific

an elk hunt (Ówen P.), Monday, 12 March 2012 19:56 (fourteen years ago)

i've seen the "LP [number]" thing used by fans of a lot of bands, not just Radiohead, for better or worse

some dude, Monday, 12 March 2012 19:57 (fourteen years ago)

it just seems like a functional abbreviation to me.

sarahell, Monday, 12 March 2012 20:00 (fourteen years ago)

somehow i missed my xpost w/ owen, obv that was an xpost

some dude, Monday, 12 March 2012 20:03 (fourteen years ago)

They should do like Nine Inch Nails' "Halo [number]" thing and call them Head 7, Head 8, etc.

im not making this up

Kenneth Toilethole (Whiney G. Weingarten), Monday, 12 March 2012 20:14 (fourteen years ago)

aww man, so if i want to search for information about the seventh radiohead record i can't just type "lp7" into a search bar? how bothersome

akadarbarijava (psychgawsple), Monday, 12 March 2012 20:17 (fourteen years ago)

dude obv there's going to be more Google hits on radiohead than any other band

an elk hunt (Ówen P.), Monday, 12 March 2012 20:18 (fourteen years ago)

Yes, because Radiohead have the most insufferable fans, not because they're the most popular band to ever make a 7th record

Kenneth Toilethole (Whiney G. Weingarten), Monday, 12 March 2012 20:21 (fourteen years ago)

"Sigggggh, I love Philip Larkin..."

No problem w/ Larkin but can't help reading those as hard g's when they're lined up like that & it is a bit vexing.

boxall, Monday, 12 March 2012 20:21 (fourteen years ago)

A quick survey indicates that LP4 mostly hits Ratatat (who's album was called LP4). LP5 hits National fans talking about "High Violet" and uhhhh Coldplay talking about "Mylo Xyloto". LP6 hits Black Keys fans talking about that. LP7 is Radiohead.

an elk hunt (Ówen P.), Monday, 12 March 2012 20:22 (fourteen years ago)

LP8 is Radiohead too

Kenneth Toilethole (Whiney G. Weingarten), Monday, 12 March 2012 20:23 (fourteen years ago)

and LP9 is Radiohead. Packs of fucking bronies with creative writing degrees, afaic

Kenneth Toilethole (Whiney G. Weingarten), Monday, 12 March 2012 20:26 (fourteen years ago)

Yes, because Radiohead have the most insufferable fans, not because they're the most popular band to ever make a 7th record

how many big successful bands have made a seventh record during the internet age?

flagp∞st (dayo), Monday, 12 March 2012 20:26 (fourteen years ago)

Jay-Z?

Kenneth Toilethole (Whiney G. Weingarten), Monday, 12 March 2012 20:28 (fourteen years ago)

Sure they have obsessed fans but if it wasn't Radiohead it'd be some other band.
anyway considering WCC's sensitivity I think the thread title is understandable
