Payless AND some other brand are doing fake Tom's with the "we dump a pair in the third world with every purchase" as well. The Payless ones do not look too bad (compared to Tom's (not a high standard at all imo)) and are 1/3rd of the price of Tom's.

the only people that are allowed to wear toms are girls or boys with small girly feet, but not really. just go to chinatown and buy some $2.50 kung fu slippers. i'm currently rocking them as house shoes

toms have a sort of momusish euro-cosmopolitan vibe i think, which is the source of all the hate. i ribbed my friend for his pair but i've warmed to them a little, idk. kung fu slippers seem better

Just bought some vans somewhat like the second from the bottom, except they're a more standard (but very nice) grey-green canvas instead of that suede and they don't have the gold on the trim. They're extremely comfy and breathe very well - great summer shoe.

not a fan of that gold, but I like both the 2nd and 3rd from the bottom.

if you're going to wear Tom's you should wear real Tom's so you're supporting a charity. if you wear knock-off Tom's you're not supporting a charity AND wearing ugly shoes :-(

I have a few female friends who wear them with skinny jeans and it looks just fine. They are pretty popular with young professional wear-jeans-to-work types in the neighborhood I work in. They seem like chill and comfy shoes. Have never seen a guy wear them, but agree with poster above that his feet would have to be small for it to work.

i have a pair of toms & have posted so itt. mostly i just used them as work slippers i.e. something i could keep in a desk drawer and put on instead of the heavy winter or rain boots i had to wear to work. theyre comfortable but sorta indifferently made. i have no particularly strong opinions about how they look although the type of pant theyre paired w/ is probably p a big part of how they look on. also probably shit like: re toms: pair w/ skinny jeans, u-neck t-shirt and AA cardigan for maximum pukiness/yeah i don't mind this on girls at all is just, yknow, ~worthwhile opinions~

I really liked my mid-top toms, but I ruined them by always pulling them off without unlacing them -- pulled all the stitching out in the back. They were also the WORST shoes in the rain.

had a dream in which scenester dudes were wearing these rubber beatle boots, like made out of the same shiny rubber from which they make those brightly-colored women's and kids' galoshes. some had additional objects molded into/onto them, like one dude's pair was pizza-themed, with little rubber pepperoni and mushroom slices all over. was not convinced.

oh i don't wear cargo pants. i have a couple different pairs. i have a pair of buzz rickson's and a pair of ralph lauren RRL that are similar quality and price.

i would love to get a pair of real mccoy's officer pants but they are a bit out of my price range.

Do Toms shoes stretch much? Just got a pair but now I'm worried they're slightly too small...
