I wholly encourage noise babes to get into the premium raw denim too, btw, it is not just a dude thing!

ALLAH FROG (Sleepy), Monday, 13 November 2006 06:24 (nineteen years ago)

i haven't bought a new pair of jeans since early 2002 :( but the pairs i have have really lasted b/c they were decent quality to begin with. but nothing like what you're describing here. when i am not a student anymore (soon!) and make some money, i will be buying some outrageous pair of raw denim jeans mostly because this no-washing-yet-still-looking-good thing really appeals to my inner dirtbag.

rrrobyn, the situation (rrrobyn), Monday, 13 November 2006 06:46 (nineteen years ago)

i am wearing gap jeans right now. a couple of last season's "1969" jeans were pretty nice! i have a pair of those LVC 47 jeans that i got at american rag. i don't think i like them as much as my APC jeans but i think they'll get better as they stretch. actually my APC jeans have stretched way too much and i am hoping the LVCs hold their shape better.

steve i had no idea!!

HUNTA-V (vahid), Monday, 13 November 2006 07:14 (nineteen years ago)

i realize now that i was a lot happier before i started paying attention to how i dressed.

HUNTA-V (vahid), Monday, 13 November 2006 07:18 (nineteen years ago)

PS still can't find a good buffalo plaid lumberjack shirt. i've been looking for a nice dark pendleton but it's all like "grey ombre" and these nasty earthtone combos.

HUNTA-V (vahid), Monday, 13 November 2006 07:28 (nineteen years ago)

New Uniqlo in NYC has some, Vahid. Get a noise dude to go by there for you?

paying more than $30 for jeans /= dirt bag style

also: i'm not really sure what a "buffalo plaid" lumberjack shirt is, but we've got buffalo, plaid, AND lumberjacks, so I'm pretty sure whatever it is you're looking for, it's right here in sunny Montana. also, cowboy shit.

gbx (skowly), Monday, 13 November 2006 14:40 (nineteen years ago)

apc jeans always look like they should have elastic waistbands. i just got some cheap monday jeans in black so i can go hang out across the street from high schools and smoke.

I swear I saw a pair of those butt-word shorts the other day that said "butt" on the butt. It was a nice butt.

I try to remember not to wear white briefs when I wear my one increasingly crotchless pair of jeans, but oh well.

manute lol (sanskrit), Monday, 13 November 2006 19:14 (nineteen years ago)

oh i forgot that the front of my jeans look like fucking swiss cheese at this point, and not in a stylish noize denim style. i keep being afraid my cock is going to fly out an an inopportune moment.

a name means a lot just by itself (lfam), Monday, 13 November 2006 20:25 (nineteen years ago)

Spent the weekend blowing my nose/coughing into a dirty t shirt by the side of my bed.

It's still there. I know this because I stepped on it when I got up for work today, and it was squishy.

japanese denim freaks (allah & shasta): you guys are out of your mind. i saw a pair of PRPS the other day and they were no better or worse than any other jeans i see out there. i like jeans that look good and fit well. if they cost a bit more money than i'm happy to buy them, but i'm not gonna buy a pair just because it came from japan. as far as "quality" i've never had a pair of jeans fall apart on me. i think you guys are being sold on hype.

jaxon (jaxon), Saturday, 18 November 2006 04:07 (nineteen years ago)

PRPS are very nice, but cut for jp dudes so they are short on me! i need a 34 inseam.

HUNTA-V (vahid), Saturday, 18 November 2006 04:13 (nineteen years ago)

one of the things i never understood about hi-fashion clothes. if your pants are so damn nice, why do they come in S, M, L and XL instead of a range of waists and inseams?

HUNTA-V (vahid), Saturday, 18 November 2006 04:14 (nineteen years ago)

I don't really like PRPS. You're mad if you can't tell the difference between a pair of cheap jeans and a pair made with superior dyes, fabric, etc, be it made in Japan, the US, or anywhere else, Jaxon. It's nothing to do with "Made in Japan" in and of itself, merely that a number of small Japanese brands are fanatics about the quality of their product in a way that most others producers of jeans today are not. Price in general is a bad indicator of what you're getting with jeans though, as all sorts of "fashionable" jeans of dubious quality are sold for rediculous amounts. Fact that people pay so much more for shitty washes and distressing is crazy. To get into all the details like ring ring vs open end, hank/rope dyeing, number of dips of indigo, etc would be a really, really long post.
