there was a cd plant in the UK that manufactured a bunch of bad discs in the early 90s, most of which were subject to disc rot, where the layers of the cd separate over time. only 1000 xaman cds were produced, it's been OOP since, and most of those have audio problems due to the disc rot.

I actually rearranged the tracks on the xaman I uploaded. the lp song order was "slaves", "sunrise", "xaman", "wave", and that's what sounds right to me. the cd added 3 bonus tracks, but they were stuck in between "xaman" and "wave". so listen to "wave" last if you're like a cd purist.

the shame of the disc rot on xaman is that those 3 bonus songs are only available on the cd.

there's a long story about the mix on xaman, too, what a fucking cursed record.

My copy of Xaman is all yellow and rotted, but I recently ripped it to iTunes with seemingly no problem. I have another CD on Shock...the Twisted Village comp (which is killer), but I don't know if it rotted as well, I don't think so.
