I remember that feeling - it's a relief, especially when they ain't seen you for four-five years.

yes. one i haven't seen since about may '03 and the other since may '04. the latter was my voice teacher sr year and i haven't even emailed her since graduating. but luckily she came through. i was nervous about asking her cause i only worked with her for one year. my teacher for the 3 years prior to that died, so the person who knew me best isn't around to recommend me. (maybe that part should go on the bummers thread?)

that's great. i hate asking people to do stuff like that for me, but it's awesome when they come through.

such a relief! i hate asking, too. if i'm in a position of power, i can tell people what to do, no problem. but if i'm in a position where i'm the underling i freak out about asking... like... at work i could call anyone and be confident and shit, but if i need to call someone of authority for personal matters, i get soooo nervous.
