WHY DO YOU LOVE BRITISH TELEVISION?

GARGLEBY (dr g), Tuesday, 22 November 2005 05:00 (twenty years ago)

but i love american television! lost! arrested development! the office!

cutty (mcutt), Tuesday, 22 November 2005 05:04 (twenty years ago)

Plz, tell me more about Vapezilla. Does it come in peace? Does it seek to improve the lot of those it encounters?

Or is it vengeful and punitive?

giboyeux (skowly), Tuesday, 22 November 2005 05:11 (twenty years ago)

You did not answer the question. Why do you like British television?

GARGLEBY (dr g), Tuesday, 22 November 2005 05:14 (twenty years ago)

it's not as much british television as it is british humor that i like. you don't like the british humours?

cutty (mcutt), Tuesday, 22 November 2005 05:19 (twenty years ago)

Choler's alright. Bile's gross. The other two: meh.

uh?

[beach.jpg]

jaymc (jaymc), Tuesday, 10 January 2006 20:09 (twenty years ago)

yeah, but what thread is this heresy on?

cutty (mcutt), Tuesday, 10 January 2006 20:11 (twenty years ago)

i have no objections to the posting of beach.jpg (that's why i keep it hosted) but at least keep it relevant

cutty (mcutt), Tuesday, 10 January 2006 20:18 (twenty years ago)

Are you gygax?

jaymc (jaymc), Tuesday, 10 January 2006 20:20 (twenty years ago)

no?

cutty (mcutt), Tuesday, 10 January 2006 20:24 (twenty years ago)

sorry bro

jaymc (jaymc), Tuesday, 10 January 2006 20:25 (twenty years ago)

British television IS much better than American television (save for HBO).

adamrl (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 10 January 2006 20:27 (twenty years ago)

by IS do you mean equally CRAP?

Jack Cole (jackcole), Tuesday, 10 January 2006 20:30 (twenty years ago)

No, I mean it's good. You should try it.

adamrl (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 10 January 2006 20:30 (twenty years ago)

the mighty boosh is the ultimate television

cutty (mcutt), Tuesday, 10 January 2006 20:31 (twenty years ago)

Hmmm...not so sure about that.

I meant more like Match Of The Day and Footballer's Wives and The Incredibly Strange Film Show.

adamrl (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 10 January 2006 20:31 (twenty years ago)

the boosh!

cutty (mcutt), Tuesday, 10 January 2006 20:32 (twenty years ago)

Nothing as good as Deadwood or The Wire on British tv, I will grant you that.

adamrl (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 10 January 2006 20:33 (twenty years ago)

I think my problem with US TV is more to do with all the ads and also the news.

adamrl (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 10 January 2006 20:34 (twenty years ago)

But then I don't actually watch a lot of tv, anyway - no cable, no reception.

adamrl (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 10 January 2006 20:34 (twenty years ago)

The Mrs watches Oprah and Dr Phil, and we watch some award ceremonies...that's about it.

adamrl (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 10 January 2006 20:35 (twenty years ago)

So, my diagnosis is probably flawed.

adamrl (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 10 January 2006 20:35 (twenty years ago)

redundant, even.

adamrl (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 10 January 2006 20:36 (twenty years ago)

no cable, no credibility

jaymc (jaymc), Tuesday, 10 January 2006 20:36 (twenty years ago)

cutty (mcutt), Thursday, 23 February 2006 18:41 (twenty years ago)

what about that boosh show? I saw one episode and except for one or two great gags, found it very not funny.

Dan Selzer (Dan Selzer), Thursday, 23 February 2006 18:48 (twenty years ago)

the orig. striped shirt pic was on an ile thread wasn't it, about clubbing or fashion?

snakeshit ;] (eman), Thursday, 23 February 2006 18:50 (twenty years ago)

the mighty boosh is the greatest show ever

cutty (mcutt), Thursday, 23 February 2006 18:53 (twenty years ago)

Is anyone else tired of seeing guys with these kinds of shirts?

snakeshit ;] (eman), Thursday, 23 February 2006 18:53 (twenty years ago)

jeremy loved the mighty boosh but the one he showed me really wasn't that funny, except for one part that cracked me up. I will give another chance...

Dan Selzer (Dan Selzer), Thursday, 23 February 2006 19:27 (twenty years ago)

what was that one part that cracked you up?

cutty (mcutt), Thursday, 23 February 2006 19:45 (twenty years ago)

I don't remember it was a long time ago...maybe when the guy who's going on about his hair is suddenly in a room filled with mirrors...that's all I remember.

Oh when the hair guy and the gorilla are like "we should honor my dead friend by listening to his rare jazz records", putting it on for 2 seconds then saying "this is shit" and smashing in in pieces. that was hilarious.
