that flock of seagulls 12" was one of the first 10 records I ever bought, man did it ever hold up, it is totally worthy of zero set

I cared! I looked in my iTunes and saw that I already had the track and thought, "Pretty sure I got that off Milton Parker."

i feel bad now! i was looking through the archives and of course found a very informative post from milton about the nightmares 12", making the rastakraut pasta/zero set connections long before i'd even heard of conny plank

btw how is the listen lp? it was recorded in conny plank's studio right?

there are some brilliant Whodini tracks recorded at Conny's as well and think the Vocoder book mentions some un-released Bambaataa-Plank material, too.

that said, anyone have Parlour No. 2? blinked and missed the ed. of 250.

my fav 80s conny plank is the gabi delgado solo album, mistress. really out-there hybrid synth-funk w/ tropical touches, kinda sleazy and sweaty and coked out

dude, when i went on safari in s.africa, we were all like "oh fuck, elephant, lion, cheetah, etc". big shit. then every once in a while you had birdwatchers on tour w/you and they're like "oooh, look Tachybaptus ruficollis, Podilymbus podiceps, etc" and they're the biggest nerds in the world and you just want to punch them in their fucking binocular holding faces

then the mp3's I posted will have you flying into an uncontrollable rage that grows deeper every time he pronounces a new mnemonic meant to help you remember the birds by their calls. guy sounds like those moments when jim henson's voice would begin teetering back into character as kermit, making it clear that it wasn't a character

I am impressed with what it must take to be Lang Elliott. His recordings of isolated individual animals are just about the best I've heard, the Jean C Roché albums are weirder, Douglas Quin's are more remote, but this Lang guy, it's like he wields a sonic microscope
