would anybody be interested in this killer dirge that is played when you're in the inital line for the haunted mansion at d1sn3yl@nd/w0rld before you get in the elevator?

i've been listening to it on repeat for like an hour and it's totally twistin my melon man.

PRKLTR (flezaffe), Sunday, 22 October 2006 21:08 (nineteen years ago)

anyone got the album by jean-michel jarre's group space, "just blue"?

gear (gear), Sunday, 22 October 2006 21:15 (nineteen years ago)

i just bought it a few weeks ago on vinyl, but sorry bro, no digitizing capabilities at the jaxon household. btw, jean-michel jarre has nothing to do w/the group. it was produced by Jean Phillipe Iliesco. this album has some cool tracks on it (and some really shitty ones), but the album Magic Fly is way better.

jaxon (jaxon), Sunday, 22 October 2006 23:01 (nineteen years ago)

i can see why you thought jarre was in the group though by reading the amg review: The synthesized love child of fellow French musicians Cerrone and Jean-Michel Jarre, Space made their mark in 1977 with "Magic Fly" not long after Jarre blasted to worldwide acclaim with his own "Oxygene."

jaxon (jaxon), Sunday, 22 October 2006 23:11 (nineteen years ago)

the other day i laughed my ass off at an ebay listing -- the seller had cut and pasted a amg Ned Raggett review as the description

▒█▄█ ▄▄▄ ▒█▄█ , Sunday, 22 October 2006 23:33 (nineteen years ago)

ahh see i'd heard a song from that album and then read that particular review xpost : /

neat, thanks!

Dominique (dleone), Thursday, 26 October 2006 15:19 (nineteen years ago)

some of the Szajner sounds really familiar ... what's the story on that guy?

dmr (Renard), Thursday, 26 October 2006 15:51 (nineteen years ago)

thanks for szajner -- had only read his name mentioned vaguely

a hint of what magma + electronics would have been, these textures are messed up, and the back cover is great: ALL HUMAN IS ERROR

milton parker (Jon L), Thursday, 26 October 2006 17:22 (nineteen years ago)

enjoying your great american set, milton. what's the story there?

hstencil (hstencil), Thursday, 26 October 2006 17:25 (nineteen years ago)

please to upload part 2

manute lol (sanskrit), Thursday, 26 October 2006 17:43 (nineteen years ago)

just anonymously playing records at the back of the room between live sets by friends, most people didn't even realize there was a dj I don't think, though a very shy, very cute girl walked back to thank me for playing ringo

dj sets are total fun though they only really work if you play them guerrila, offstage.

set two

milton parker (Jon L), Thursday, 26 October 2006 18:31 (nineteen years ago)

live sets by who? just curious. also am i rite, is the first one a bit low for a bit, then gets loud? it's good.

hstencil (hstencil), Thursday, 26 October 2006 18:34 (nineteen years ago)

split fennel & the tornds (huge), & you're right, starts quiet before getting brained by scelsi, though a lot of the signal in the first 15 minutes is below 100 Hz

milton parker (Jon L), Thursday, 26 October 2006 19:26 (nineteen years ago)

PRKLTR (flezaffe), Friday, 27 October 2006 18:17 (nineteen years ago)

you also forget the existence of 'weblogs.'

the track is very good, too, so there's no reason not to hype it.

trees (treesessplode), Saturday, 28 October 2006 00:24 (nineteen years ago)

PRKLTR (flezaffe), Saturday, 28 October 2006 15:33 (nineteen years ago)

trees (treesessplode), Saturday, 28 October 2006 16:30 (nineteen years ago)

jaxon, milton esp,

do you kids look at teh whole skafunkrastapunk forums thing? the classical jazz thing has some real gems...my friend nick started a "bizare guitar" thread recently some great stuff there..plus the whole ocora thread is mindblowing

bb (bbrz), Thursday, 2 November 2006 19:00 (nineteen years ago)

i would but "skafunkrastapunk" makes me think of the guy in college who honestly believed that the bosstones invented ska.
