i'm actually the cat man tbh
when i went out to go to the library today a pile of snow fell off my roof and on my head. my bag was fully of ice balls. someone on cathedral has a sign on their door that says "watch out for snow above" and i looked up and there is a huge avalanche waiting to crush a pedestrian. it is v dangerous out there.

harbl, Wednesday, 10 February 2010 03:18 (sixteen years ago)

Fusty Moralizer (Dr Morbius), Wednesday, 10 February 2010 17:03 (sixteen years ago)

max, Wednesday, 10 February 2010 17:06 (sixteen years ago)

had no idea nyc was gonna get hit so hard! i got a text from cuny letting me know the brooklyn college campus is closed - btw this is the only time their 'alert system' ever actually worked, and i'm not even there anymore (you'd think they'd auto-remove people who are no longer associated?).

bwoling and drifting (tehresa), Wednesday, 10 February 2010 17:15 (sixteen years ago)

well, we HAVEN'T gotten hit hard yet, what else is new

Fusty Moralizer (Dr Morbius), Wednesday, 10 February 2010 17:21 (sixteen years ago)

Baltimore City Mayor Stephanie Rawlings Blake has raised the city's Snow Emergency Plan to Phase Three, the highest level.

It means that all vehicles must be taken off the street, except for city authorized emergency vehicles, including police fire ambulance, snow plows and BGE emergency vehicles.

According to WBAL's Jayne Miller, the mayor has ordered snow plows to stand down because of very dangerous conditions.

Heavy snow and gusty winds have hit the city since 9 a.m.

The National Weather Service has issued a Blizzard Warning for the Baltimore area. It remains in effect until 7 p.m.

am0n, Wednesday, 10 February 2010 19:04 (sixteen years ago)

bwoling and drifting (tehresa), Wednesday, 10 February 2010 20:29 (sixteen years ago)

how about 5 snow days!

Mr. Que, Wednesday, 10 February 2010 20:30 (sixteen years ago)

have not been at work since noon last friday

Mr. Que, Wednesday, 10 February 2010 20:30 (sixteen years ago)

then i might be bored.

bwoling and drifting (tehresa), Wednesday, 10 February 2010 20:30 (sixteen years ago)

harbl, Wednesday, 10 February 2010 20:31 (sixteen years ago)

going a little crazy--yesterday thought about starting a talk show with the cat

Mr. Que, Wednesday, 10 February 2010 20:31 (sixteen years ago)

First, the National Weather Service has upped its estimates of the total snow accumulations once this storm finally ends tonight. Instead of the 10 to 20 inches they've been warning about for two days, forecasters have just upped the ante to 20 to 30 inches for Baltimore and its suburbs.

harbl, Wednesday, 10 February 2010 20:31 (sixteen years ago)

want to go outside soon, it's stopped blowing as much snow--couldn't see a thing this morning

Mr. Que, Wednesday, 10 February 2010 20:31 (sixteen years ago)

i think i had a double snow day a couple times in middle school or high school, those were the absolute best

vag gangsta (k3vin k.), Wednesday, 10 February 2010 20:32 (sixteen years ago)

i would not normally be going crazy but there is nowhere to go obviously. sux.

harbl, Wednesday, 10 February 2010 20:32 (sixteen years ago)

man we'll get like 8 if we're lucky, would kill for 30

vag gangsta (k3vin k.), Wednesday, 10 February 2010 20:32 (sixteen years ago)

yeah i remember one double snow day in ny. when i moved to ohio it seemed like every time it snowed kids got a week off, same in md i guess

harbl, Wednesday, 10 February 2010 20:32 (sixteen years ago)

yeah i would love to go for a walk but it's impossible. turns out my computer is too old for netflix streaming, so i can't do that. i've read like 3 books since friday

Mr. Que, Wednesday, 10 February 2010 20:33 (sixteen years ago)

btw before this disaster i laughed at people who went grocery shopping before a snow storm

harbl, Wednesday, 10 February 2010 20:37 (sixteen years ago)

right? i used to work at a supermarket and ridicule olds who would buy like 4 gallon jugs of water and toilet paper any time the forecast was for snow

vag gangsta (k3vin k.), Wednesday, 10 February 2010 20:45 (sixteen years ago)

i grew up in sc and my northern parents would lol and lol at the sudden disappearance of all bread and milk from grocery shelves at the forecast of 1 inch of snow.

bwoling and drifting (tehresa), Wednesday, 10 February 2010 20:46 (sixteen years ago)

jealous of u, loltimore

mookieproof, Wednesday, 10 February 2010 21:14 (sixteen years ago)

People are encouraged not to panic... but to simply stay
inside... enjoy your favorite indoor activities... and ride this storm
out... the hazardous conditions will be improving later this evening.

am0n, Wednesday, 10 February 2010 21:29 (sixteen years ago)

enjoy your favorite indoor activities... start a talk show with your cat...

am0n, Wednesday, 10 February 2010 21:30 (sixteen years ago)

just walked to the giant and rented inglorious bastards from redbox. crisis averted--cat show is cancelled. it's brutal out, tho

Mr. Que, Wednesday, 10 February 2010 21:31 (sixteen years ago)

think of all the activities we could do

harbl, Wednesday, 10 February 2010 21:31 (sixteen years ago)

Ensure your exhaust pipe is cleared of snow and ice. Crack
your windows to avoid Carbon monoxide poisoning. Tie a colored cloth
to your cars antenna or window to be visible to rescuers. From
time-to-time... move your arms... legs... fingers... and toes to keep
blood circulating.

am0n, Wednesday, 10 February 2010 21:34 (sixteen years ago)

I am going to go out for pizza or yellow curry.

Fusty Moralizer (Dr Morbius), Wednesday, 10 February 2010 22:02 (sixteen years ago)

Mr. Que, Wednesday, 10 February 2010 22:03 (sixteen years ago)

I have it out from the library. My BFF (who loathes it) told me to get drunk first.

Fusty Moralizer (Dr Morbius), Wednesday, 10 February 2010 22:05 (sixteen years ago)

Fusty Moralizer (Dr Morbius), Wednesday, 10 February 2010 22:06 (sixteen years ago)
