these seem pretty indestructible

picked up a pair of desert boots - like them lots but a little concerned about the fit. tried two sizes, got the bigger one because they felt more comfortable out of the box, but now walking around at home I feel they might be a little loose. wondering if I should have gone half a size down - do these shoes break in over time?

my are broken in but i think they will always feel loose just how theyre constructed. im not a shoe nerd tho.

oh man I didn't realize those were tretorns, I had them mentally categorized as "max's poi boots"

how's the support? arch support? too flexible in the middle? I need new shoes bad to replace the wallabees. Clarks boots I'm wearing now are fine but not what I want to wear every day.

i have a pair of their dress boots that are really well-made and comfortable, although i don't wear them that much. not as good as church's but better than clarks. most of their boots are really heavy and functional looking tho iirc

ya i was looking at these, but like a pair of tims, if not paired with baggy enough pants they end up looking like u should have bolts comin out your neck

I really like the low desert boots, I know, shocker. It does seem like they don't offer any support, though -- I would insole them to death if I were a boy and had some.

deej, do not go down the path of the boat shoe. Especially in a color other than brown/navy (green boat shoes = trucker hats of 2009-10)

woah. since this dr visit I've been trying to find sturdy black leather boots that don't look to workmanlike or foppish and have a good heel. Some of those Wolverine 1000 mile collection shoes look awesome.

gonna check out Red Wing also...there's one in my neighborhood for some reason.

ya, i almost got redwings. the Iron Ranger look like these wolverines, but w/a toe cap and are slightly less expensive. i surprisingly had to go down a size and a half with these ones.

I got the 1000 mile wolverines too, Jaxon. In black. Very expensive, but my birthday is coming up. I also tried on the Ascot, another from the series, which I liked a bit more, syle wise they were simpler, but they pinched me in a weird way whereas these were super comfortable. I bought them at a super trendy shop in brooklyn and everyone there was wearing them and they were really distressed and looked great and apparently they gave the shoes to somebody who like, took a belt sander to them or something, to give them that lived in look.

Was thinking about some cross-strap tretorns a bit like that but wound up with generic surplus instead.
