Good job, guys. You have invalidated all of his criticisms, and now he will surely enjoy the show.

call me paranoid, but I'm pretty sure that this was a subtle zing. Of course, I'm hurt, but since it's estela I'm kind of honored too.

twice boiled cabbage is death, Friday, 1 January 2010 20:21 (sixteen years ago)

no no it wasn't at all, i was filled with admiration that you have a finishable book, i was selfishly continuing with my own resolutions, avoid me.

estela, Friday, 1 January 2010 20:58 (sixteen years ago)

okay cool- then I guess my other new year's resolution should be to be less paranoid.

twice boiled cabbage is death, Friday, 1 January 2010 21:13 (sixteen years ago)

not a super-zingy zing, but the funnier it's pointed out to Morbs that he's still posting on the Inglourious Basterds thread the better

i think the way you expressed it is more graceful, slocks.

A flamebaiter named Tinderbox? I admire your subtlety. (stevie), Tuesday, 5 January 2010 08:25 (sixteen years ago)

so has morbs actually seen any movies? i am confused

plaxico (I know, right?), Tuesday, 5 January 2010 21:48 (sixteen years ago)

i feel like maybe he starts his reviews "despite not actually having seen this movie..."

plaxico (I know, right?), Tuesday, 5 January 2010 21:48 (sixteen years ago)

I think Morbs is just predisposed against movies that attract "fanboys," which you could say is true for both Tarantino and Apatow. (And probably James Cameron.) But the very phenomenon -- call it the Ain't It Cool News-ification of film appreciation -- gets him so het up he can't help but rant about it wherever possible, including on threads devoted to such movies.

Hoisin Murphy (jaymc), Tuesday, 5 January 2010 22:08 (sixteen years ago)

yah i was just joinin in, <3 morbs 4e tho

Oh yeah, me too, just doing some armchair analysis.

Hoisin Murphy (jaymc), Tuesday, 5 January 2010 22:11 (sixteen years ago)

i dunno what this makes me but the more i read morbs on film the more i agree with him (with a few decent-sized exceptions)

Electric Universe (wherever that is) (acoleuthic), Tuesday, 5 January 2010 22:19 (sixteen years ago)

if UP IN THE AIR takes Best Screenplay over this it's a crime

They are in different categories; UitA is adapted from a novel. This is "original," and would lose to the oh-so "original" Quentin Tarantino if it was nominated, which it won't be.
