like was that repetitive scratching the dude trying to get out or his bros digging????

was srsly put out by that vid for like 45 minutes

butt sound insanity (gbx), Sunday, 4 October 2009 00:45 (sixteen years ago)

He also got very lucky to be honest. In the time that he's buried, you can hear his breathing already accelerate. The ruffling noise back and forth is his chest rising and falling and the noise that his jacket makes. The intermittent whimpering noise you hear is him trying to swallow and get some air since the avalung wasn't fully in his mouth and instead just to the corner of his mouth. Avalanche at 1:19. Blue sky and view of the rescuers starts at 6:07.

HI DERE I SURVIVE AVALANCHE

cozwn, Sunday, 4 October 2009 00:47 (sixteen years ago)

i think it was his breathing apparatus, but it sounded and looked like wolf eyes in srsly misanthropic mood

oh wait yeah exactly

kell surprise (country matters), Sunday, 4 October 2009 00:48 (sixteen years ago)

oh god he had an avalung, thank god

butt sound insanity (gbx), Sunday, 4 October 2009 00:49 (sixteen years ago)

i was wondering if that noise was him breathing, but it seemed too long (didn't know he had a lung with him)

eegh, creepy

butt sound insanity (gbx), Sunday, 4 October 2009 00:51 (sixteen years ago)

Man, that was pretty rough to watch. Can't imagine what it must have been like to experience.

mu-mu (Pashmina), Sunday, 4 October 2009 01:01 (sixteen years ago)

Rough to watch indeed. Though the sound and image of when he is still buried is compelling and beautiful.

young depardieu looming out of void in hour of profound triumph (Le Bateau Ivre), Sunday, 4 October 2009 01:02 (sixteen years ago)

Really is! Maybe more within Coil or TG's remit. When the screen flickers and the voices get louder = holy fucking shit this is Hell

butt sound insanity (gbx), Sunday, 4 October 2009 01:05 (sixteen years ago)

i think about those old cyberpunk scifi visions of the future where you could port in other people's harrowing or hot experiences in thru virtual reality and this is pretty much there

Neil Young's bizarre short video films advertising Lionel toy trains are awesome. So was finding them completely by accident, so I won't post them here so you can play detective.

There is some kind of air raid siren in my neighborhood that is tested like once a month, and the way that it resonates and echoes off the hills around here makes for a really amazing 2 minute drone.

Fetchboy, Wednesday, 7 October 2009 10:04 (sixteen years ago)

we have one of those here, but it's for the fire department or something. goes off just about every day. pure silent hill flashbacks.
