Coming across this post today made me smile. I find I go back to watch the Tide short more than anything else I've done. Seeing it in this mosaic version was something I've been curious about for a while. When I did the storyboard, I'd actually laid it out in a grid 6 x 20 on the wall. One thing that strikes me immediately is how my drawing style has changed over the years. Seeing the drawings reduced in size emphasizes the eccentricity of the figures-- which I'm able to enjoy at this point almost as an objective viewer.

I'm very much enjoying seeing my characters take form as 3D models for Firebreather, my first full CG feature. At this point, I'm doubtful I'll be going back to 2D animation.

Cool, looking forward to Firebreather.
Its interesting to imagine AF done in CG. I think there is potential in CG film making that's dying to be realised.
Peter, how about your independent project that you've often mentioned - could that end up in CG? I imagined you'd already drawn a lot for it.

Nice to hear from you again Peter! That mosaic is amazing, thanks for the link.
I'll miss your old drawing style, but after going on 20 years, what can you expect I suppose. Everything changes.

I would also love to hear any updates on the status of the independent project.

P.S. I just watched the Tomb Raider shorts. You did a great job.

The mosaic is in WMV format and isn't supported by Chrome, so I threw it on YouTube:
