Last year, I started reading all of the Spider-Man stuff from about the mid-80s (I think during the period Owsley was editing?). It was pretty good! And then I was getting near the point where all the clone stuff started happening and it turned dire really quickly (which, bad ideas aside, is always gonna happen once you throw Howard Mackie into the mix). I'd been wanting to read the Clone Saga alongside that fascinating online "book" about the whole debacle (available here) but I couldn't do it even for the sake of historical interest.

Okay, I can see it now. Yeah, just as quickly as the mid-'90s Spidey stories turned to shit, the art took a similar deep-sea plunge.
