Savage Hawkman #6: Ah, the MORTIS ORB. Of course. How stupid of me. I'm doubly confused, because I stopped buying this but it ended up in my LCS folder this week and I'd paid for it and taken it home before I noticed. After the Gentleman Ghost looked good last month, he looks crap this month. Corpses, corpses and more corpses and next month Hawkman vs Zombies. I sort of hope it will just rip off a desktop tower defence game. Then THE LIEFELDENING!

i heard from a bird that walking dead creator and apparent liefeld fan robert kirkman was not pleased, but no clue as to reactions from the robster himself.

I'm not a Kirkman fan so I don't care what he thinks, but that looks kind of fun. Not enough pouches in the art that they chose for the article.

I suppose if I'd been thirteen, not twenty-three (or older) when all this happened, I'd have been influenced in a big way by 90s comics. The tribute looks far more interesting than the comics that ostensibly spawned them.

to answer the thread question: Superman would have a utility belt. Also Aquaman. And Krypto.

Superman would also have a facial scar and one glowing eye.

Batman would have a two-toned facemask and no cape, just flying squirrel wings like Baron Blood. And a sword with a bat-winged hilt. And one robotic leg.

Flash would have a series of pouches to hold the speed force in and, best of all, never have visible feet.

Green Arrow would have an eyepatch and a cybernetic arm, and his bow would only file swords. Which he stored in a giant pouch on his back.

I like the idea that he uses the bow as a grindstone but never as a bow. Run with the typo!

Series have gone 50 issues with worse premises.

Some of them had Liefeld content as well.

As much as I dislike his art and what he's brought to cmics, he seems to have a pretty good sense of humour about himself--I imagine he'd probably enjoy Rub the Blood in his own goofy way

The funny thing is that Mr. Kirkman had zero involvement in the books that got those creators in the first place. I mean, that's the REALLY funny thing. As in hilarious.

My assumption was the RUB THE BLOOD crew were all teenagers in the 90s, reading those Image books and getting fired up. Pretty sure that Kirkman didn't release a book until 2000, so his being upset at RUB THE BLOOD is, ergo, hilarious.

well tbf we only have "a bird" to go on, and no indication of what he might not like about it if he even doesn't, let's not ignite the sneerbomb too hastily
