Moment when it became like cool to like commercial pop music?
This thread is obviously a mess, but while whiney is just doing time-honored disruption I think RT is right on the verge of personally abusive and should be at least temp-banned.

Hilarious continued and desperate attempt at suppressing non poptimism opinion. I was posting good posts, distilling, and attempting serious debate on the most prescient topic of our generation, and people who clearly WERE NOT BIAS AT ALL to the topic decided to disrupt and spam, it's obvious.
No surprise, you yourself who were one of the ones trying to disrupt, pollute and spam and belittle from the start, now trying to back up your friends who are beginning to look ridiculous and bloated like a stray fish lowtide. And asking for bans. Sad. Really sad.

Of imago's two identified possibilities, the kinder one is the first and the more likely to be correct, imo. Then again, 2006-era imago was banned more than once, iirc, as a form of gentle correction to certain impulsive tendencies he was sometimes unable to control. Raccoon Tanuki seems quite salvageable for participation in civil society. ILX will be good for him.

A temp ban is a relatively cheap and simple remedy for RT's overexcitability, such as posting a link to the same nyt article about 20 times across multiple threads in one day. This sort of ham-fisted ur-triumphalism is not a permabanning offense, but a temp ban is more of a rolled-up newspaper to the nose of a puppy than a nuclear option. I would recommend it in this case. And it won't be his last temp ban, if my hunch is correct.
